Unless the moderators would like to step in and moderate this dispute, I'm leaving. I cannot believe that...my belief that a bloody avatar is inappropriate for this site would cause somebody to go off on me on at least 2 threads. He started a second thread called "Rage" specifically to rant about how much he hates me. This should not be tolerated.
After several days of avoiding the site, my curiosity overcame my reluctance and fear of flaming, so I read through four pages of threads. I just want to say that I never asked the avatar to be changed, I simply stated my opinion, which was that it was offensive to me. Then HE went off on that thread, then HE started another thread entitled RAGE which was personally directed at me (I cannot believe anybody, even an aspie, would not see it as personal) and talked about HATE.
THAT was my problem - his very public anger and hostility, specifically directed towards me, posted on the boards. My original post is above. Perhaps it was misunderstood. What should not be tolerated, and why I am still angry with all of the mods, is that the hateful thread WAS tolerated.
So every single post was completely not about the appropriateness of the thread, but instead about the avatar. I wonder why every person missed my point. Did I not make it clear?
I came here originally thinking I would get and give support. Instead I find more people willing to jump into an argument, or belittle others' opinions. It reminds me of people driving in their cars and being more willing to be aggressive. Perhaps the internet allows some people to come out of their shells, and they feel they don't have to hide.
I may post on this forum because of people like Fiat Lux and Bland and Cade and Belfast, people who act in adult and respectful manners, but I'm very nervous now about saying anything at all.
