One of the traits that we are known for is our black/white thinking.

Personally, it is the thing I struggle with more than just about any other.

Black/white with very little anything in between will ALWAYS be my first choice in a questionairre.

It is curious though. We do not have a black/white thinking when it comes to how we consider things other than what we do socially.

How do you figure that? My whole life is viewed in black/white terms unless I very specfically think in other terms.

I know quite a lot of people with Aspergers and have noticed that, while they are all different, they tend to veer towards one extreme or another in their personalities. These are the ones I've noticed.

Very high self-esteem or very low self esteem
Over-confident or lacking in confidence
Extremely passive or extremely aggressive
Talking too much or barely talking at all
Very positive or extremely negative
Over-trusting or not trusting people enough
Extremely open (e.g telling things they may not want to know) or very, very private.
Very naive/gullible or very cynical

These are just some observations, no idea if they're right or not.

I am all of these depending on who is nearby. I talk about a subject more to instigate memory... If I talk about something that bores others I don't care... I want to remember it forever.... Otherwise I have nothing much to say unless I am familiar with a person.

I notice this too. For myself I've noticed that I'm either highly motivated or not motivated at all. If something captivates me I can focus for hours. If I have little interest in something it's like there's a lead weight holding me back. I can't just go through the motions of life the way other people seem to be able to. I can't do anything half-assed.
i either love doing things or hate em :p

I think it is quite well-established that

People with Asperger's Syndrome tend to view the world in black and whites (whereas NTs more tend to see the world in shades of gray).

The "black and white" worldview can immediately be translated to a tendency towards extremes as is seen in AS.

That's how I tend to be. I do live in extremes a lot and they are pretty much just like you mentioned.

I only view the world in black and white when I'm extremely stressed.

Beyond that, I'm prone to pathological "grey area thinking," almost to the point I can't form proper opinions.

Another extreme, perhaps?

Perhaps.
It could be overcompensation to consciously or subconsciously knowing you are naturally a black and white thinker.
