I have ADHD and its the first diagnosis I have gotten that makes sense and have ben on Ritalin La and Ritalin short acting 10 for a year as well and even tho I feel its more than just ADHD aka Aspergers or maybe even the both combined, the Ritalin helps me out a lot. I can tell when I forget it.
The worst part about the Ritalin for me personally is even tho my body is so tired my mind feels like its forced awake if I dont get enough sleep. Its a really odd feeling like you just have to stay awake even tho all your body wants to do is go back to bed my mind is like no have to concentrate.
I did have side effects for awhile and dont really notice them anymore except for the forced awake feeling. I figure thats better then not being able to focus at all more so at work and driving everyone crazy when I get hyper. I do notice that I do feel more upset tho but I hope its due to something else.
