Last night I asked of diverse group of people (their own similarities an obsession for WWII and having AS) if they thought Hitler was AS. The response was about 50/50.

If it is, WOOOOOO for Melbi coz Melbi realised that she does not understand the concept of sarcasm. but maybe she has made progress :D

You could say that yeah. So WOOOOOO it is.
I was reffering to the fact that every month or so there's a thread about the hitler/AS connection.

Things I've read about Hitler don't lead me to believe that as an individual that he was an evil person per se or a sociopath, or a cynical manipulator. Despite that he was responsible for massive amounts of evil. In his head he wanted good things for the German people, and genuinely believed in what he was doing and that the Jews were responsible for a lot of problems.
Of course he was massively self deluded, narcissist and definitely manic depressive.

Stalin on the other hand was truly evil, the ultimate betrayer of his own people, and everyone around him. He was much more level headed, but paranoid, ruthless, sociopathic, remorseless. He only wanted ultimate power and control over all things.

Neither seem to have anything to do with Autism.

Hitler being evil assumes some sort of absolute moral system that does not exist outside of religion. In other words, we have no more right to say he was wrong than he did us. The only difference is in the power to force wills, and hey, he was better at it.

Anyway, I have no idea why people feel the need to diagnose random famous people. I hope it's not to feel better about yourselves, that would be low

Personally, I think Hitler was far too charismatic to be autistic. I know plenty of charismatic aspies, but the way Hitler was able to charm world leaders visiting Germany into thinking everything was fine with one-on-one meetings makes me think he can't have been an aspie.
Scizophrenic, maybe.
I've heard he was addicted to methamphetamine and the decline of his health and sanity over the years was due to meth psychosis, which I think is believable.

He was either a psychopath or sociopath, managed to con his entire nation into following him (granted, he did stabilize their economy, so apparently he did love his nation). However, mass murder . . . pssssy-chooooooooo . . .

Hitler never visited a psychiatrist, and under current methodology, any such diagnosis is speculation.

Well, there ya go. If Hitler never visited the equivelant of a pschiatrist, it suggests he simply didn't need one. He could function and succeed without one. They had asylums back then, if he needed to be in one, they wouldn't have had any problem putting him in.

People keep trying to see the disability in Hitler, but did he really have one? He did towards the end, when he was suffering the tremors of a Parkinsonian type illness. He didn't have many problems getting the Germans to back him up, which suggests he fit in well with many of them.

Historians have said that Europe was suffering a psychosis at the time, so maybe he was, also, by default.
