Should persons with Asperger's consume Cannabis?

I am for legalizing it, and I applaud the Obama Administration's decision not to go after states that decriminalize it (and he and I don't agree on much). That said, it's not for everyone, and I doubt it's a useful psychotropic drug. Even if it is, cannabis is still carcinogenic, and is definitely something one doesn't want to depend on.

Right... so no one ever smokes it in Amsterdam, since the laws are relaxed there?
I don't give a f**k about the social cliques that *supposedly* go hand in hand with it, I f*****g hate Phish, I f*****g hate The Grateful Dead, I f*****g hate patchouli, I shower regularly, I'm not trying to fit in with anyone, and I think marijuana is great for the relief of anxiety and physical pain.

well I know there are already like 6 responses to this, but seriously that has got to be the most ignorant thing I have ever read. I smoke because I like the effects I don't give a crap about trying to be cool, thats stupid.

I wouldn't reccomend it for anyone. I also wouldn't touch a joint with a 10 foot pole.

to me this is all about neurodiversity, if the diversity from one type of consciousness is allowed, then so should all.
granted this also holds a lot of challenges, and some diversity wouldnt be able to function in the rule-set society of today, but in my eye this all trancends the legal constraints put on it today.
everyone should be able to think how they like, no matter the circumstances required.

i know how destructive cannabis can be if overused but that can be said of everything, even water, oxygen and a host of other things you need to survive on a daily basis.
going beyond that even the more unneccesary goods can be classified as an attempt to fill a need, be it for happiness, pleasure or otherwise.
so in the end all you are standing with is the question of who is right?

People always seem to assume pot smokers are going to be dirty hippies. That is like saying everyone who drinks on Friday nights is an alcoholic womanizer
I don't do it to fit with anyone either, it has actually been a long time since I have smoked with anybody. I don't even mention I smoke to people I know, most are not wise to it. I don't drink at all, so they think I'm 100% clean cut.. I use it medicinally for migraines and sometimes stress, and recreationally when I want to do some star gazing with my telescope or play some video games on a Saturday night. We're all people too, us pot smokers About as diverse as the general population, from Doctors to Teachers to Electricians

Did someone on WP just accuse us of smoking weed because we think we are being cool?

lol that was my thought as well......I mean I thought a certain level of uncoolness was common on this site, lol not in a mean way but come on are people who have had troubles growing up because of their differences really going to smoke marijuana to be 'cool'?

well you can tecnically eat marijuana, though usually when people do that they put the cannabis in brownies/cookies or other food items because eating buds straight of the plant might not taste very good......then agian it might taste good that way to. lol

I just figure the more control we give to the government, the bigger a monster it becomes. If we like our taxes and goverment control low, we should oppose any law that doesn't protect us from others. It's our job to protect ourselves from ourselves.

I like my taxe and SERVICESSSS high. In Quebec, I can get the choice of my psychiatrist for FREE. I can have health care for FREE. I can do a master degree in the top 3 Engineering University in Canada without the need to work 40hours a week or having to ask 100 000$ from the banks even if I'm not in the top 5 student of my class. We have the lowest price for electricity, we enable everyone access to a minimum of education. We give health care to homeless, we can give them a second chance in life if they are up to help a little bit themselves.

We have the liberty to use cannabis because it has proven for it's good property on human health. It might sound arrogant, but I always believed that socialist or culture that give more importance on social help rather than industry help are much more advanced society than conservative society. Still we manage to have advanced industry, our medical student, engineer, artist, are praised by many. In fact we have a problem of "Brain exode". That mean that people from around the world come here in our university at lower cost and higher quality and go away in USA to get paid much more. I don't see it in a bad way, because I believe in free information.

Please, I don't want to get unleashed on that subject, I can go on for hours! I think that capitalism kills human kind!

Government should do what they are asked to by the population and what's in the best interest for their civilian, not their industries who just kills personnality... It so much weird to see how individualism leads to the loss of individual personnality. It gives people the need to invent a life rather than living their own... Reality TV (or garbage TV) is a proof of what I'm saying!! !

So back to the subject, I'm surprised to see that so many people here are in favor of cannabis usage. I think it's on a way to a larger acceptance in many other culture. I hope USA and other conservative country will see the benefits for human health, and good for many development/innovation

My opinion is that if you like it, you should be able to use it. I see absolutely nothing wrong with people consuming the shrubbery. I used to smoke regularly but determined that it exacerbated my depression. I havent smoked in 3 years but I'm still not completely convinced that I'm better off without it. It did seem to have a somewhat positive effect on anxiety for a few days. But, smoking with other people brought my anxiety to near panic levels.

As far as I'm concerned pot is a safer substance than alcohol. Alcohol is much more likely to put someone in a life threatening situation. So if it brings you a little happiness or relief, go right ahead.
