Yep!! I even used to do this pretty badly f2f. I could actually get downright mean when I really had something that got my goat. I also had an amazingly bad stammer.
Amantadine worked wonders, and it almost totally stopped my rocking and stammering too! It's really amazing, amazing stuff! It's also completely non-habit-forming and has a delightfully tolerable side-effect profile as far as I'm concerned.
I had some weird dreams at first, but they cleared up pretty quickly. Gone entirely now. Something I should warn you about is that I started having some mild nocturnal seizures, but the doctor didn't seem concerned when I reported them and kept me on the stuff. However, he added melatonin to control the seizures (it was only effective when I actually took it, though). Popping a pyridoxine (vitamin B6)--after reading about pyridoxine-dependent refractory seizures and putting that together with refractory seizures being common in autism--caused them to stop entirely, and I'll be reporting the seeming amelliorating effect of the pyridoxine to him when I go to see him again in less than two weeks.
But believe me, I sympathize with you tremendously. What I find helps me sometimes besides just the amantadine is to force myself to avoid responding to posts where I think the person who wrote it is completely ret*d or a colossal jerk because I know that I will have nothing nice to say that person (I'm not a saint, though, and sometimes I lapse and start verbally abusing someone who is truly a gigantic and destructive prick). Instead, I try to find one where I think the person who wrote it had something intelligent to say, and I find a place in that post where I can take off and say something like, "my view on it is a little similar to that, AND what I think is..." and notice how I used the word "AND" in that example, not "BUT."
The point is that I have to stop believing that I am or have to be the Internet's policeman and do more to support and encourage people who actually have something valuable and intelligent to contribute. Keeping my mind on that helps me tremendously. In fact, I find that nothing goes farther in getting idiots shut up than for intelligent, thinking people to agree with each other a lot.
Unfortunately, there are not very many intelligent, thinking people who care about politics, and the ones who do tend to have unpleasantly acerbic and mercurial temperaments.
