I'm sure someone mentioned the neanderthal theory? Because I typed this for whoever said it..

Ok, let's link this into the neanderthal theory. What I say will be speculation obviously but it has some merit I think: -

Clearly neanderthal didn't have to process any toxins because these things weren't around - car fumes, pesticides, processed wheat, dairy etc...

Now we know that neanderthal went extinct and that homo sapiens suddenly became more prevalent, but we also know that neanderthal bred with homo sapiens and that neanderthal genes have survived in this way.

What was the reason neanderthal became extinct, what was different about homo sapiens which made them dominant?
How was the environment for each different? Were there more/less toxins?
Why did the neanderthal genes need to be mixed with homo sapiens genes to survive?
But why did they still survive when mixed together - surely the surviving genes must have been useful and must have found a strong functional relationship with homo sapiens genes?
Were the genes which dictate neurology and brain growth in homo sapiens and neanderthal different?
Did any of these neanderthal neurological genes mix with homo sapiens and survive?
Were neanderthal much more individual with homo sapiens being much more a group species and did homo sapiens evolve to more readily breed?
And what about the genes which deal with toxins between the two?

As for speculation of detoxification in modern females being superior - perhaps this is due to their need to have a better environment for a foetus/pre-natal growing baby?

Now, as well as the potential environmental issues from different detoxifying genes, perhaps there is a potential conflict between certain genes - adding to the risk of "bad" mixes alongside "good" mixes? The "bad" mixes, depending on the function of the genes, can make someone "mentally challenged" or can give all kinds of "negative" effects. The "good" mixes - looking only at a mixture of genes which affect neurology - giving someone a unique perspective and make them much more open-minded - having compatible neurological genes from two sub-species should do the job there... and of course, these may go hand in hand with non-neurological neanderthal genes e.g. why do so many of us have more sensitive hearing? These genes are not "neanderthal" genes now as they have had their own separate evolution whilst being mixed with others

Now what about black African people, apparently there's no trace of neanderthal in them. Three possibilities come straight to my mind 1. Their autism is purely defective detoxifying genes and environmental brain damage - hence why it's rarer. 2. At some point neanderthal did interbreed with them. Perhaps less genes were preserved/are compatible and that's why autism is rarer for black Africans 3. Their autism is genes similar to neanderthal genes from a sub-species which evolved similarly at the time, perhaps the similar sub-species also had no need for such detoxification hence 3 is linked to 1, and also due to genetic variety (in this hypothesis not being considered, causing the ridiculous scale of "autism") perhaps examples of each can be found individually in some people, as well as a mixture of both in others, just as in the neanderthal variety of other ethnic races. Also could be the reason it's rarer if less genes of this different sub-species were preserved/compatible

And here're some quotes I found about neanderthal genes "Neanderthals possessed the gene for language and had sophisticated music, art and tool craftsmanship skills, so they must have not been all that unattractive to modern humans at the time."
"Variability is very important for long-term survival of a species," Labuda concluded. "Every addition to the genome can be enriching."

What do you think? It's just speculation obviously but I think it's important, people seem to not consider these kind of things in their quest to "cure" autism. This is just random stuff I've thought of over the past couple of days whilst looking at a few things, I'm not a scientist but I can easily see other people's research and make logical speculations, it's worrying to me the way the people who speak about autism, and who wish to find a "cure", completely disregard linking things like this together, before going on to question and research them in an impartial and open-minded way, I can easily see homo sapiens committing pre-natal genocide and severely impairing, if not accidentally extincting!, themselves by wiping out a lot of genes they haven't researched thoroughly, but think are bad.

Well, what I'm going to do is view other people's research in more depth now, as well as hopefully do some of my own, then I'll write something and back up with decent evidence, but it will take a while...

I think there's decent evidence all around that at least what I said is my "theory so far" has some merit and is an issue which needs to be addressed.

Post anything that will help please, research or your own ideas etc - there's been some good stuff shared here already

And here's an overview of detoxification:

This is interesting, as for the MMR - I know for a fact from a real life example that a child was diagnosed with "autism" right after receiving an MMR, after which he drastically changed. As for detoxification, many of them do look like scams. I do think there's strong evidence that many autistics are vulnerable to various toxins however

Arnold, why do you ask, "Is this correct?", in your thread title, when you are simply unwilling to hear the answer, "no"?

The question has been thoroughly researched. There has been no correlation discovered between vaccines, heavy metals, and autism. The only reason the hypothesis was advanced in the first place was because autistic withdrawal was once thought to be a sign of low intellect, and one of the side effects of mercury poisoning is lowered IQ. However, it has been clearly demonstrated that autistics occupy the same intellectual range as everyone else, they just have a harder time expressing this fact; thus, the tenuous link once hypothesized is wiped out. This is in addition to the fact that thimerosal, which never contained more than trace amounts of mercury in the first place (seriously, there's more mercury in a typical can of tuna than there ever was in an entire series of vaccinations), was eliminated from vaccines in several countries and at least three states as early as the late '90s, and the autism rates in those locations remained precisely the same.

I also have pointed repeatedly to the legend of the "changeling", and its odd resemblance to regressive autism (including typical age of onset). This would tend to demonstrate that regressive autism, in all likelihood, predates vaccinations by several centuries at the very least.

What you have there, Arnold, is what we in the scientific fields like to call a "hypothesis" - a guess, supported by nothing more than speculation. In the popular mind, this is conflated with "theory", but in reality a theory must first be supported by verifiable facts, and repeatable experimentation where possible. Sadly, the facts and experiments tend to debunk your hypothesis, so I'm afraid it's no more deserving of the lofty title of "theory" than the idea that we're descended from ancient reptilian aliens.

The thread evolved well beyond vaccinations, don't just comment on my first post

but as for this "There has been no correlation discovered between vaccines, heavy metals, and autism" I trust my real life examples over reading other's research, I know that one MMR jab has caused something that was diagnosed as "autism". Plus heavy metals can easily cause brain damage. Brain damage can easily be seen as "autism" - believe it, it can.

Yeah, they also said they found fragments of active measles (Rubella) virus in some ASD & IBD patients. This was an effort to link the vaccination thing to both, I believe.
To me IBD & ASD are due to this: Gene(s) from parent+enviromental trigger (possible viral/bacterial infection in IBD, unkown for Autism)=One or the other, or in our cases, BOTH.
Though Ithink possibly CD in early childhood ( I have some of the indicators, but didn't flare fully until my 20s) may have caused other developmental problems aside from delayed growth spurt (19 for me) & lower back problems.
As for diets, I stay away from all of 'em! I just watch out for things that have caused major issues. Why did one have to be milkshakes, though!? :(

Sincerely,
Matt

I have to ask by the way.... Are you suggesting that our environment is actually much more toxic than people think it is, and that these toxins cause damage and a number of illnesses in people - effects which are being fobbed off as things such as disabilities/mental illnesses? And perhaps that some of the people classed as "autistic" are simply people with a decent set of neurological genes however are more prone to poisoning, their genetic traits lumped together with the symptoms of poisoning to be called "autism"? By people who know full well the real effects of these toxins?

I don't mind questioning these kind of things at all but for some reason a lot of people hate conspiracies and speculations like this, they think that if you don't have solid proof you should not speak, but you have to speculate first anyway, it's the first and most important step.. speculation is the precursor to evidence and facts.. but I imagine people will bring out the "tin foil hat" saying if this is discussed anyway, but I did find your links and words interesting.

The problem is, with the level of transparency of our "governments" anything could be speculated about or against them, any anything that may hold some truths may be lost

Yes, you're all right. I think I had that word stuck on my mind for some reason. I don't know why, I think I'm just annoyed at a lot of the things currently being said about autism, but I shouldn't use the word, it was an accident - it was something that was typed very quickly and it was a struggling initial thing I was on to which has now evolved a lot, I'm not so happy with the original now and reading it back I used the word ret*d a bit inappropriately and a lot more than I thought as well.
So I've edited just that word now to be more accurate and appropriate, and the whole thing is redundant now anyway compared to my new speculation, which this conversation did help to bring out to the surface somewhat. What I think I was on to, what was struggling to come out, is this -

I received my MMR inoculation at 18 months, but my parents were entirely ascertained that there was something not quite right with me at birth. I was oxygen deprived because my umbilical cord was wrapped around my neck three times (nuchal cord), which subsequently has lead to what is termed Intrauterine hypoxia (perinatal asphyxia). There is consensus that asphyxia at birth can lead to long-term neurological complications such as autism and other developmental disabilities.

I exhibited many of the classical portends of autism well before being immunized with the MMR, such as hand-flapping, no eye contact, and hypersensitivity to environmental stimuli at approximately 3-4 months of age, so my form of autism was implicated by a perinatal factor and was not the consequence of a vaccine-induced injury - no matter what any self-righteous, ignorant, and pontificating anti-vaxxer or conspiracy theorist thinks. As substantiated by hypothetical causations, there is no single cause for autism spectrum disorders - although it is not the result of psychogenic factors and inadequate nurturing or parenting. Most anti-vaxxers, pseudo-scientific therapists and propagandists tend to be very ignorant with their overgeneralizations of explicating the causation of autism, and naively believe that dangerous and pseudo-scientific therapies such as chelation therapy (heavy metal detoxification) "cure" autism (it only significantly alleviates their levels of mercury, and doesn't reverse the condition), which can be falsified by the fact that autism is a life-long, and chronic neurodevelopmental disorder, although early intensive behavioral interventions like Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) are scientifically proven to show beneficial outcomes for some children on the spectrum (e.g. significant improvements in cognitive, linguistic, social, and adaptive skills), although the neurological structure of their autism will not change.

Autism has a genetically intricate etiological basis as-well as a scientific epidemiology which encompasses a range of genetic and environmental denominators (heritiability, fetal testosterone levels, placental insufficiency, specific gene/chromosomal variations, medication use during conception, birth complications, prenatal exposure factors etc.), and it has been fundamentally existent as a neurological abnormality that is predetermined by genetic mutations and differences well prior to vaccinations being devised a few centuries ago, not to mention that the organomercury compound thiomersal (consists of ethylmercury and thiosalicylate) wasn't introduced until the 1930's, and the rates of autism continue to accumulate ever since the term "autism" was coined by the swiss psychiatrist Eugen Bleuer approximately twenty years prior to the introduction of thiomersal as an inoculation preservative - he defined the term for symptomatic aspects which denote to infantile schizophrenia.

In my unambiguous ascertainment, thiomersal containing childhood vaccines (not including the MMR as it has never contained it) are not a substantive contributing factor for the development of autism; nevertheless, the pharmaceutical companies (including Merck & Co) need to be deemed non-obligatory to put abhorrent chemicals and preservatives in vaccines like formaldehyde, MSG, aluminum, and aborted fetal tissue. It has been long proven that excessive levels of formaldehyde in the nervous system can cause cancer in the long-term. I'm also deeply perturbed over the idea of bombarding one's immunological system (too many antigens) with the simultaneous administration of multiple vaccinations (Polio, Hepatitis B, DPT, Swine Flu etc), as the absorption levels of mercury and other injected chemicals could indeed be very quantitative, and it is publicly acknowledged that mercury is a neurotoxin. Immature or underdeveloped immune systems simply cannot cope with this bombardment and it is therefore reasonable for vaccines to be given separately over gradual periods of time.

Despite the mandatory notion that the MMR + ASD link has been scientifically disproven multitudinously, I've heard from independent sources that some of the epidemiological studies that refute the pathological correlation between MMR and autism have construed as lacking reliability due to possible methodological flaws. The MMR vaccine on it's own may not be a denominator to autism, but it may trigger it's development through the inoculation process (just like a severe aliment; high fever, brain inflammation, seizures, physical accidents etc.) in a small proportion of infants born with an aggregation of genetic and environmental predispositions that might contribute to an ASD. This is analogous to how people suddenly develop medical conditions following a viral intracranial infection like encephalitis or meningitis, which can lead to severe brain damage and multiple neurological implications like epilepsy and even ASD's.

Although Andrew Wakefield has not proven the link between the MMR jab and autism, he is absolutely correct in his assertion that the British government are responsible for the innumerable outbreaks of measles and mumps as the result of withdrawing the option of single vaccines offered by the NHS in order to save money (Big Pharma agenda coming into play here as-well as a financial alliance with the government I think). I suppose we'll just have to wait until the truth arises and it will determine whether he may or may not be vindicated. Parent's children should be offered the choice of single vaccines by NHS practitioners in order to abstain themselves from the perilousness of the MMR vaccination.

This MTHFR connection is a very interesting find. Apparently nutritional supplements could provide the enzymes people with this mutation lack.
This article suggests folate supplements would help:
http://berkeley.edu/news/media/releases ... omes.shtml
These people claim " B-9 as folic acid and B-12 as cobalamin are NOT good options for an MTHFR gene mutant. Instead, you can bypass mutated B vitamin pathways and take the already transformed version of the vitamin enzymes (Methylfolate for B-9 and Methylcobalamin for B-12)."...

but of course, they are selling something:
http://www.methyl-life.com/

I'll see if I can dig anything else up. I've been thinking of getting a dna test and this gives me another reason.

As for vaccines, I wonder how large a role they could play: the amounts of the metals are so small. There would still be a greater risk from lead paint, fish contaminated with mercury, and other major sources of these toxins than from vaccines. But still, if the 9% of the population with two copies of the mutation is shown to be at a higher risk for vaccine reactions, maybe they could be exempted from some or all vaccine requirements, and dna testing could also ease the minds of parents whose kids don't have the mutation who might otherwise avoid vaccination.

You are making several large mistakes in your thinking.

1) You are trusting an anecdote ahead of large amounts of peer reviewed data. That is not good science. With more data, you are less likely to be wrong.
2) You are using a "post hoc" fallacy- "a child had an MMR vaccination, then he was diagnosed with autism, therefore the vaccine caused the autism". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post_hoc_ergo_propter_hoc The vaccine did not necessarily cause the autism- in fact, there's a wealth of literature that indicates that the MMR doesn't cause autism.

This whole thing needs to be shut down. It was Andrew Wakefield who first proposed this in the absence of any data (literally nothing). It was then rehashed by the UK gutter press.

Vaccines are cheap. No one is getting rich flogging vaccines. There is no patent and no vested interest.

The total amount of mercury in an MMR jab is equivalent to approximately 3 tins of tuna. Even this was later taken out in order to assuage the fears of concerned middle class parents.

Recently a baby in my hometown was permanently brain damaged by measles. He came into contact with an unvaccinated kid.

Please stop spreading these junk rumours. They kill people.
