When senseless heartfelt tragedies occur, society becomes on edge and hyper-vigilant in trying to find meaning and answers. As a consequence, groups and individuals who have any associations with or characteristics of the perpetrator become target(s) of scrutiny and fear.

In such times, you have to be cognizant of these things.

If it comes up that he has AS, investigators and media will read websites like this, whatever you say about him could end up on the news. They already showed his Adultfriendfinder profile, so they could show someone talking about him I suppose.

I agree----maybe it wasn't AS, but it definitely sounds as if he had some type of personality disorder. I wonder too if he felt as if he was a failure because first he couldn't get a job, and then his grades started to slip and then he just gave up.

He could have a personality disorder, or maybe not.

I could play paintball, and dress up with Mjolnir armor from Halo. That doesn't really mean that I actually think I am Spartan 117, The Master Chief. But if I knew alot about Halo, I could be pretty convincing. The disguise could help me to do what I usually couldn't do, that is play paint ball better.

If he wants to scare people, he could just say he is the Joker, and use everything he knows about the joker, there is alot of information out there to use, including comics. He might not actually think he is the Joker, or.... Maybe he does.

Sort of. I don't really find the subject of killers and criminals to be that interesting but I've obsessed over several serial killers in the past and enjoyed reading about them. Well, mainly Charles Manson. I must have a soul as black as coffee because I've fallen asleep to Charles Manson: Super Star. Its just something I've watched so many times its oddly soothing, which is horrible, but I kind of drown out the words when I'm sleepy and just nod off. Now, before you go tell me how horrible I am I don't think Charles Manson is a good person or anything like that, he's just terribly interesting. I liked his songs he wrote too. To me he just seems like the one really weird substitute teacher you get one day who is literally off the street, instead of giving you the assignment he "improvises" and talks about his childhood and goes on and on about his experiences, getting more inappropriate as he continues. Everyone is hushed and listens, in between silent giggles, because no one wants to do work and everyone finds the old drunk guy very entertaining. He feels
that every word he has to share is ingrained with philosophy, depth and "street smarts", its very funny. I've known several people like this growing up and its scary how well Charles Manson fits in with them. Only difference is that he had some celebrities murdered.

Growing up I had teachers reference Charles Manson so much and then the "singer" Marlyn Manson took his last name. Before I really learned about what he did I always assumed he had eaten 50 children and sacrificed them to some infernal pagan god while tripping on acid. I'm not downplaying the horrible murders he conspired, I guess I was just...disappointed? Not a good word to use in this context, I know. Please parents, don't hate me yet. I know one of the celebrities killed was pregnant. For the reputation, I was expecting something more grisly like what Jeffrey Dahmer did, with eating people, storing them in containers etc etc. It wasn't until I watched some documentaries and heard the guy actually talk that I really became "obsessed" so to speak.

The Cell is one of my favorite movies but that's about as much into serial killers as I get. I kind of find the Son of Sam interesting too, just because of all the occult stuff. Anytime a killer has any twinges of the occult mixed in I will probably have some kind of interest.

Oddly, this was the first thing I thought when I heard what he did and how he did it...."Oh please don't let him have AS". The more I hear and read though, the more I fear he is on the spectrum, be he diagnosed or not. Its worrisome. Like we need anymore stereotyping.

But I refuse to jump to conclusions.

I found the John Douglas books to be interesting. He is the man who was responsible for setting up the Behavioral Crime Unit in the FBI. He discusses some of his cases and the steps they took to catch the criminals.

not serial killers so much as the people that catch them. The killers themselves are human garbage.

Not really. I am only kind of interested in their psychology but am not obsessed. I know some people who are super-obsessed with killers.
