Tolerance of stupidity

What annoys me is if you refuse to learn information that is relevant to you--if you actively reject new information, actively avoid learning. If that's the case, I probably won't like you. I won't hate you--I don't think I'm capable of truly hating anyone--but I will avoid you, so as to not have to interact with you. Interacting with people of this sort will stress me out to the point that I will be tired for the rest of the day, because I keep on trying to find logical purchase, only to realize there is none, and it sends me into a sort of mental endless loop. Very uncomfortable experience, that. I stay far away from the willfully ignorant.
This. I just avoid people like that. I tried to open their eyes but it only left me with a terrible migraine.
I was going to say there are many forms stupidity can take. You can be an intellectual and still say and do some pretty stupid things. I'll include myself in that.
I'm reading Asimov and I keep coming across the same quote: robots are logical but not reasonable.
Sometimes I think using logic is stupid if you don't first think how your words will affect another person. However I make this mistake too.
People here are also using the word 'stupid' incorrectly too so it makes it hard for me to not feel the people being talked about are being unfairly labelled. Curse my literal mind.
I'm sure some people here slip from their logic and reason at some point and say and do stupid things. We're only human after all.

People who are "bull-headed" (the people whose lack of desire to open their mind and learn new things / the truth because it may possibly shatter their precious illusion of reality / those whose worldview can be best summarized by the shirt that bears the text: "Everything I need to know about Islam I learned on 9/11" or ignorant (the "stupid" people; those who simply do not know something that should be common knowledge or those who blindly follow the herd) are hardly worth the time of day to prove them wrong/educate them...
