In the DSM-V the disorder of Mental Retardation will be changed to Intellectual Disability instead.

The new term sounds much better than the old one.

I would never want to see someone using words to hurt others, however i am gay and i say "thats gay" sometimes so does my gf.
As for ret*d, i don't really ever use that word, if others use it to describe a thing i don't have a problem with that as long as there is no one who would be offended nearby. I do respect others freedom of speech. I grew up with an uncle with an Intellectual Disability, so i have been trained in not using the R word.
