I'd say it's more a case of ability in one things does not necessarily = ability in other things.

I agree it's just an ability I was :o I did way better at HS in foreign languages than those with a much higher IQ.

PS 2 x as Indonesian is the easiest language in the world to learn , though to be fair perhaps they where just bored as you are forced to learn a foreign language back in the day I wonder if they still do this ?

I agree.

The hard part about being oneself is that the majority of people are neurotypic, so in the job market you often have to accept the bullying attached to the pack mentality to some degree. We often face the choice of getting bullied thereby losing integrity/pride vs. not having company.

That's the biggest problem I have with the working world, especially lower wage work environments, is the pack mentality.
You are part of a "team", and there is a rigid social order, with serious consequences if you step out of line and act independently.

It's because NT's don't have the confidence to go it alone, so when they see someone who does it makes them jealous and afraid of their own insecurities.

I'm so much in doubt about that. I mean, whether it's true or not. It's seems true, but on the other hand I think it's just got a lot to do with that person breaking the social hierarchy, thereby the pack, which (often) means everything to an NT.

Yeah because they need the social hierarchy to feel secure. When they see someone break it, it tells them the social hierarchy is not everything, and so they feel insecure.

And that's why I just ADORE cats and find dogs, especially their social nature bothersome and annoying. LOL :P

Telling other people what they feel is the height of arrogance. You don't get to determine my thoughts or feelings, sweetheart.

Sorry, I did not mean to offend you at all. Please talk politely.

It was a bit of a joke. The phrase is used in the Southern US for various reasons. One of the connotations is "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." So you say something nice as a contrast to what you are actually thinking. Although in this case I was mostly thinking "it would be funny to use this phrase in this specific circumstance." :) Urban Dictionary says

Quote:
This is a term used by the people of the southern United States particularly near the Gulf of Mexico to express to someone that they are an idiot without saying such harsh words.

But I do not think you are an idiot nor was I trying to express that you were.

I do apologise. If it pleases you and if it isn't too much trouble, would you please do me the courtesy of allowing me to determine my own thoughts and feelings? I would be frightfully grateful if you could. Thank you kindly. :)

Actually, Qawer, I wasn't all that offended at first; it was the subsequent discussion (most of which admittedly wasn't from you) that pissed me off.
But seriously, don't correct people when they tell you that you're wrong about their inner states.

When you have the social attitude of a cat instead of a dog, how can you functionally engage in relationships? For instance at the job?

The problem is, they want to include me in their pack, but I don't want to, because that means I am to be bossed around through bullying. I won't put up with it!

Is there a solution to this problem?
