I've never tried Soylent, partially because the name is a turn off and partially because it seems too artificial.

I am, however, very interested in finding a nutritionally complete drink or food that can replace 2 of 3 daily meals. Ideally, it would be plant-based, vegan, natural, derived from whole foods, and low in carbs, high in proteins, and relatively low-cost. My interest is that I want to be healthy and I work out, I have a bit of extra fat I want to lose, but I often don't want to be bothered to eat or prepare anything. Meals are a hassle. Also, food is crazy expensive, especially healthy food.
I've said for years that if I could drink something that would give me all my nutritional needs, I would. It's too much hassle to have to cook something, so I either skip eating altogether or just grab whatever out of the fridge so I'm not hungry anymore. Difficult to have energy and be healthy and active on a junk diet, but I just can't seem to stick to a regimen because of the hassle of putting the food together. If I could make something in a blender every morning and eat a regular meal at night, that would be perfect.
I'm going to look into DIY Soylent recipes, maybe one will fit my needs.
