Good attitude - I just get wound up thinking about facts and points and counterpoints... Did I go too far, are they mad at me... and so on. Not worth it.

You know, if I say the wrong thing, the other person might turn into a wolfman or something. :) THEN I'd be in trouble.

Nah....I only turn Wolfie under extreme provocation :ninja: :ninja:

In all seriousness, people have opinions because of their life experience, and their perceptions. It is hoped, though, that some degree of objectivity is employed in the formulation of those opinions, though. And some degree of openness to others' perceptions.

Solipsism, to me, is akin to death.....for there is nothing but yourself to experience.

And, remember that the original research with Autism with Kanner and Asperger were done before MMRs. It's not like the spectrum just showed up in 1971.

Humans are really good at coming up with narratives to fill in the gaps. There's such a strong drive to find an enemy, something to blame. Ideally, science can be a candle in the dark to help us think through what is really happening. There's a lot we don't know still, and I'm no curebie, but the actual real research with brain imaging and genetics is pretty interesting. Instead we waste lots of resources refuting 12-person studies with half-million person studies.

Ahh, why am I even commenting on this subject?
Your input was welcome. I hadn't thought of the studies done way back when with Asperger himself. And, your synopses of the narrative was eloquently put.

Thank you.

Nothing to it. I truly appreciate a well thought out response that is so succinct. And, it opened another pathway to consider.

I've had chickenpox. When I was 12 and at summer camp, I started feeling very bad and came down with a fever. I was sent to the clinic to rest and the nurse called my parents, who were vacationing, to come pick me up. At home, I erupted with the poxes, which were torturous, some of which got into my throat and mouth. It was not fun.
