Things that say we "suffer"
I can't believe how many delusional people there are on this board.
*what* suffering? Who says I suffer at all?
You are blocking out reality and your suffering. Are you honestly happy with AS? Poor social skills, depression, lonliness, obesssive behavior.
I am one of the few people on this board that has decided to fight this disorder.
Are neurotypical people happier than people with AS? Undoubtedly.
First off, I'm not lonely. I don't have lots of friends, but the friends I do have are really good close friends and I wouldn't trade them for anything. And my obsessiveness is part of what makes me brilliant. I was an awesome student who actually liked being a student while my NT classmates found school "boring", and did a lot of self-destructive things. Now, I also really enjoy doing work and am more productive than the NTs I know. My sister, who is the director at the place where she works, is constantly complaining of the lack of work ethic in people my age.
Are neurotypical people happier? Well, I have accepted myself for who I am, while most NT people I know are taking stupid and desperate and costly steps just to "fit in". I have no doubt that I am far happier.

Perhaps the poster JWRed, is in crisis right now. He does not sound sure of himself in his AS.
As for me, I am happier than I have ever been. I have been living the way I do for all my life, and I am 53 years of age. I will sooner rather than later be one of the first diagnosed senior Aspergians, and as such I hope to be a good role model to the younger ones, even if I do not have all the answers.
It took me a long time to accept myself, without self pity and self loathing. For someone to tell me I suffer from Asperger's is tantamount to self hatred. I will not do this.
I hope JWRed will embace his differences and learn to live with his limitations, which is to say I hope he comes to accept the things he cannot change, the courage to change the things he can, and the wisdom to know the difference, to welcome his own unique Difference in this world.
