I laugh a lot, people just don't hear it. ;) The people I interact with on an almost daily basis don't hear much.

And it's definitely inappropriate at times...sort of.

I know that I'll be watching a movie with people and things will strike me as funny that other people won't think is funny. Some scenes in "I am Legend" come to mind as well as the other day I was watching this old movie called "Whatever happened to baby Jane" which was some kind of thriller but it had me laughing uncontrollably. The movie is basically about a middle aged woman who dresses and acts like a little girl who terrorizes her crippled sister. It was the over the top acting that made it funny to me.

first i have to claim that i'm not a funny guy. my sense of humor is nearly down to zero that i always look at the bad side. but i also have to admit that i laugh at misfortunes at times in my heart and try my best not to show it up on my face. as a result, i give an odd facial expression with a mixture of laughing and sorrow. and after that, i'll feel so guilty of why i could be that cold-blooded and start blaming myself showing no humanity.

i remember once someone told me he was unemployed and was depressed about it. i barely laughed out! i couldn't show a proper facial expression and say any words to show my concern and encouragement. because i just can't feel what he feel. is it a matter of lack of empathy? and once again, i feel so sorry about it.

Yes, I have this problem a lot.
I don't laugh when I find something to be funny, but I only do it as a nervous thing. I only laugh when I get nervous, but apart from that I rarely if ever laugh.

WOW!! I do this all the time. People usually think I am a crackhead or a moron, except my friends. They usually are intrigued.

The absolute worst time I laughed when it wasn't appropriate was really embarrassing for me.

My fiance had bought some racy lengerie. She walked into the room with it on and I just sat there on the bed dying of laughter. I just burst out laughing and it humiliated her very badly. I spent the next several hours trying to convince her I wasn't laughing at or making fun of her. In actuality, seeing her in the lengerie made me remember some sexy lengerie my mother tried to hide from us brothers when we were growing up. Seeing my finace in the lengerie made me get an image of my mother in the same get-up. And somewhere between being grossed out that I imagined my mother half naked in lengerie and being aroused by seeing my fiance all dolled up for especially for me, I blew a mental fuse. Both things hit me at the same time and somehow my goddamn mind dealt with it by laughing. It was so embarrassing. I just do not understand how my brain made me laugh at a moment that should have been a real bonding moment. Instead of reaping the rewards that lengerie had to offer, I spent the rest of the evening snuggled up on the couch trying my very hardest to do damage control.

I know this is more information that most of you would like. But it was my most dramatic Aspie moment yet.

I also had a moment that I didn't react to a situation like everyone else does. My Aunt had died. She had been suffering fro Leukemia and finally succumbed to it. It was a very long and tortorous ordeal for us all to watch her die so slowly for so many years. So when my Aunt died, I remember feeling that her death would relieve everyone sadness at watching my Aunt's suffering. It was comforting to know she wouldn't be in any more pain. So during the memorial service, I actually caught myself smiling while everyone else around me wept. And I felt so embarrassed. In my heart I was feeling sadness at her passing. But at the same time I felt relieved she no longer suffered. And somehow what slipped through my emotional filter was the happiness at knowing she no longer suffered. I had to sit there and purposefully try hard to not smile.

My own mother's funeral was a normal event for me, realitively speaking. I grieved when I should have grieved and rejoiced when others spoke well of her life. Still not sure why I mis-reacted at my Aunt's funeral only to behave and react accordingly at my mother's funeral.

I try to see if other people are laughing. If not I try to hold it in... Some things though... like burning people on movies and documentaries... I find halarious. For no apparent reason. And I say halarious to describe the level of laughter it causes. I don't know if I actually find it funny. but laugh=funny right? :D

My laughter is very visual - often someone will say something and I laugh because I imagine the literal translation as a picture which is very amusing. I used to have a terrible problem in french class. i couldnt stop laughing once I got going. My friends loved it, I couldnt help thinking of ridiculous things for our assignments, and the picture in my imagination was always so hilarious that I couldnt stop laughing.
Sometimes people think I am laughing at them - for example my friend once said that she would put the dinner in the fridge, by mistake (she meant oven and English is not her first language -she got mixed up), but I visualised us waiting and waiting for the dinner to cook in the fridge and it was so funny I had to laugh. But she thought I was laughing at her English which was not true.

I always laugh at what are socially considered, bad times.
Especially when I argue with people, I cant help but laugh at some of the stupid points people use and that does not go down well with other people.

I should've put that one down. I was in a resteraunt with my family, and started thinking of the time one of my sister's tried to kick this guy in the you know what but fell backwards on the slippery iced concrete. No she didn't seriously get hurt. It happened like a year ago and I couldn't stop thinking about it. I tried so hard to control my laughter but with no luck. My mom and sister asked if I was high on something. I told them I wasn't on anything. My sister's kids started laughing at me for laughing. My mom and sister however were pissed and wanted to leave the place. They weren't convinced that I wasn't high.

I've had experiences like that, too. People have looked at me like "What planet are YOU from?" and have asked if I was high or drunk LOL

What embarrasses me the most is when I laugh and cry at the same time. It's only happened a few times in my life, but those few times are enough for a lifetime.

I laugh at inappropriate things all the time. As an adult, Ive tried to curb it though, but growing up I always laughed at awful things. Things like people being hurt and others misfortune. I dont mean to be mean, it just seems like an instinctual nautural reaction to laugh at certain things. One wierdthing is that Im pretty emoptionless when bad things happen. I dont seem to reposnd normally. Things just dont hit me.

Yes. I definitely do this. Sometimes I laugh at things that are considered inappropriate for an adult to laugh at, and also sometimes I'll just think of something funny and will have to try very hard to stifle my laugh so people don't see me laughing for no apparent reason.

OK, here it is, the bane of my existence. For some reason unbeknownst to me, this never gets old, and whenever I think of it I can't stop myself from cracking up. And I don't even know why I find it so funny!
