When did you or have you accepted your Aspieness?

zeldapsychology, basically, I came to accept having Aspergers and all that has came with it before I was diagnosed as, in years past I realised I was different from others but, did not choose to worry too much about it and all..Yes, it's not been easy but, like Bruce Lee one most learn to get beyond the limited-minded people whom often enjoy saying or acting as, if your not capable of doing something yet, take no notice of such and press forward in life as best as possible..

I acepted that I had it from the moment I was told I had it. I just keep on moving and try to get on with life.

When I was diagnosed at 13, my mom and older NT sister both laughed it off.
They know I have it today, but still do not acknowledge it.

Later, my former HS psychiatrist explained what AS
was and how I am an Aspie. Gradually, I accepted it at age 16.

Now at 18, I am eager to learn about ASDs and
what ASD I truly have; also fearing my AS will be
mistaken for schiziophernia.

I too, was frightened that somebody was going to find out and haul me off to an institution. Then someone pointed out that I had run amuck for years and no one had packed me off, yet!
I laughed, and he told me that most people that meet me knows 'something's up but as long as I met a modicum of bodily hygene and kept to myself when I could, and if I couldn't at least I could control myself and not be a bother to people I could 'pass'. But I wasn't foolin' anybody.
