How many friends do you have? (I will define friends)

Mother, daughter, wife + possibly some more. Maybe even one male at work.

I'd say about two. But I want more than two, and I want a best friend, which I currently do not have.

But, I'm sure my parents would hunt me down.

That wasn't fair. I am married and have two children. I didn't count them because they live with me.

Thinking about the answers to these types of questions is what I truly hate about having AS. Why? Because it's downright depressing.

If I were to answer based on the OP's definition, then the answer is maybe 2. I am not counting family members or their friends, or neighbors and coworkers, because they are not my friends in the traditional sense...they just happen to live or work with or near me, or be related to me, or know someone who is. (Maybe I am overthinking this?)

Anyway, people behave so randomly and inexplicably IMO sometimes that really do not know who would "come looking for me demanding to know what gives" if I unfriended them. I said 2, but maybe it's actually 0. Maybe 10. Hard to predict, just like people themselves!

By that definition, zero. I'm not that well connected, so that sort of thing is what everyone expects of me.

Friends needs a narrower definition. Should people count their kids, spouses, romantic partners? I don't have any of those anyhow. I do have my mum who I would most certainly go looking for if she went missing for even a day but I don't think parents and caregivers should count. If they're good parents/caregivers they should be your friend no matter what just because you're their charge.

Facebook was mentioned in the OP. Although I have Facebook, I rarely ever use it. It was more or less set up for me to manage my music ministry. By the definition of "friend" as stated by the OP, I have zero friends.

and 7 autistic friends i made at camp. (( didnt make them on my own, they gravitated towards me, no work required)

I asked my daughter today and she apparently prefers mummy (at the moment) due to some grumbles over my strictness...my wife also finds me generally annoying...now I have to work at getting my tally back to two

My life partner is my only human friend. I have other four legged friends, but they probably don't fit the criteria set.

I don't have a facebook account and never will to be honest. My kids are both grown up and live their own lives so I rarely see them any more. We swap texts and emails, but they rarely ring -is that a generational thing?

I looked through my mobile phone contacts and, other than the kids, my partner and her parents are the only other 'personal' contacts I have. I have a couple of work colleagues numbers but that was only down to a couple of rush projects where I had to be in touch with them over a weekend. I do however have every single number for garages, dentist, doctor etc though.

I got a new friend today. We talked about my special interests, I fixed some stuff for him, and it only cost him 50$. Because were pals.
