Why does swearing bother you so much?

She's Canadian. She cannot be an aristocrat.

She might be a distant descendant of one--who knows?

Some people are sensitive to swearing.

Sometimes, swearing has its place. But it's ridiculous to swear just for swearing's sake.

Oscar Wilde was gay. He didn't care for women sexually. He didn't understand why a man would be turned on to a woman. Like I said, he wasn't perfect.

No person is perfect.

I dislike seeing her tell people what to do, such as "Please be nice.".

She doesn't want anybody to be nasty to her.

You shouldn't want that for yourself, either.

She isnt "telling" you to do anything.

She is humbly requesting that you do something.

That why she said "please".

Regardless, politeness is overrated. In many languages one has to use complex grammatical structures just to be polite.

Politeness isn't overrated! It's a fundamental part of humanity, along with honesty, integrity, decency, compassion, and kindness.

Well...the OP could always join Olive Oil Mom on her new "Right Planet" site which ( as I understand it) was founded so that aspies could have unbridled freedom to speak without worrying about politeness or pc-ness.

I don't think Olive Oil really lacks politeness. I just think she's blunt.

"Please" and "thank you" are not PC--they're part of being a good human.

PC is when you think somebody who pats you on the back is sexually harassing you.

You're telling her what not to do.

Ah, irony. It's hilarious to anyone but the person who's being ironic [which is actually ironic, when you think about it]!

I like irons. They smooth out the wrinkles in my clothes.

Irons are practical but I don't like them. I hang my clothes outside with a clothes-hanger while they're drying instead, that way they dry without wrinkles.

Can't do that in NYC between November and April.
