Can an aspie has low IQ/mental retardation?

To be honest, classifying different types of PDD was not very helpful in the least. The reason is that people with an diagnosis of all kinds of PDD or just ASD get the same support but in severity. Another problem is that speech delay can be mild to the point where it is missed and you got a diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome.


I am not even sure if it is true that you can't have AS and speech delay at the same time.


I am confusing myself a little bit. At the end of the day, you don't need to have speech delay to have a diagnosis of ASD
