I had a friend who just learned about my condition, and she came to talk to me and she said,"So....you have that Aspergus Syndrome?"And I'm like "IT'S ASPERGERS!! !"
And then this really rude person IMed me on the internet and they're like,"Aren't you from that aspergus site?"And I said,"You mean'Aspergers'?yEP."And they started callnig me a fool and tellnig me to f**k off and stuff.

But these people who make up jokes about us and ADHD people should DIE!

Most ADHD/ADD'ers with any sense of humor don't mind most jokes about themselves. At least I don't mind. Maybe I'm just used to it because my mom teases me occassionally and it's really obvious to my friends how ADD I am. Asperger's jokes don't bug me, because I never hear any. What few friends know are polite not to joke about it. Probably because "Ass-Burgers" is way too easy of a pun to make. If it ever gets circualted, it probably won't go any farther than the middle school level. Then agian, there are a few immature high schoolers that might consider using it. I don't care how many NT's joke about me anyways, I just thrive on the knowledge of being smarter than them and not wasting intelligence on easily thought up puns.

True Story:

I turned on my music while driving and promptly forgot. I was startled to hear "ride of the valkryies" come from a unknown sorce until I remembered I turned on the stereo. I felt so stupid. :P

Story of my life. I sometimes forget hearing a song on the computer, and have to go back to listen again.

Sorry for reviving an ancient thread but I do have a question about how to pronounce Asperger. I've been saying it exactly how it's spelled "AS-PER-GER". I've heard it pronounced with a "JER" at the end and also with "ASH" at the beginning. Are either of these right?

thanks,
