Fear, of course. A lot of people have a rather intensive phobia of "the end."

I remember, when I was a kid, thinking I'd like to die jumping off something like a really high cliff, so I could feel what falling was like.
Yeah, I know what you mean. Sure, sometimes oblivion scares me...but others times, I can only imagine the unknown feelings it would give. No one has ever come back to say what lies after, and I'm beyond curious.

Now that I think of it, I'd love to be sucked into a black hole. Just like death, no one knows what lies beyond it...god, it'd be so great to know.

I would like to die as peacefully as possible. So being unconscious would be good to start.

I'm sorry, but that would suck the big hard one. Death isn't anything to be afraid of, and why live your life if you can't reflect on it in the end, if even for a moment?

How many real life corpses have you seen? I've worked as a Funeral Directors Assistant and have seen many a fresh corpse. Horror is on the majority of faces, except those that went unconscious. I doubt there is any reflection in the end, beyond pain. I don't want my last memories to be unbearable pain and horror, basically "ARRRGGGGHHHHH". Thankyou.

Just one, my Mother's. And while I was watching her die, she looked at me for a moment before she passed, and it wasn't agony in her eyes.

I hold by my statement, I'm no coward.

With a bomb strapped to my chest surrounded by all the people who made my life miserable. Kaboom.

Complete exsanguination. Getting strapped down on a medical bed and having all my blood taken through a hypodermic needle. That'd be breath-takingly romantic.

I would rather not think about dieing as feel have spent a life time not really living or knowing who I am, until I was diagnosed last year, now I have found me would quite like to stay around for a little while longer

But if I have to die, really rather not know about it 8O

There are two parts to death, the dying, and then the death. The question is, "how would you like to die?". Now, perhaps you are a bit masochistic and have no qualms about pain and agony, and you view all those of us that do have qualms disrespectfully as weak and cowardly. Perhaps you don't. Such is your opinion and while I don't appreciate your demeaning mine and others wishes, I don't really have a great argument against it.

Either way, whether immediate, drawn out, painful, or peaceful, we will all experience death. You say it is nothing to be afraid of, and you may well be right, I hold no fear of death. But, there are many ways to die that preclude death. And the majority of them are far from pleasant and most likely wouldn't permit you a reflection on your life. Wanting it to be instant may not denote a fear of death(The conclusion), but a fear of dying(the preclusion).
