I'm alright, my meltdowns have gotten better, and i finally slept for the first time today, so im def feeling much better thanks for asking. My mother is going to the police station tomorrow with all types of stuff, she didnt tell me what she was going to do about it, so who knows.

Good luck. I hope that you will get justice. I really do.
All those times I could have got justice, I chickened out and ignored it.
Don't do what I did.

Age 1600,

I'm glad your Mum is going to the cops.

Can she get a commitment from them that there will be further education/training of the cops about Autism?

Glad that you've had some sleep.

Welcome to Bush's America where torture and denial of humanity is commonplace.

Also, welcome to a society that does not value human beings as human beings.

'Tis true. But it can be improved upon, even if only by individuals.

Thanks for everybodys support, i've lost all respect for cops to say the least, and my mother is going to try to get to the bottom of it to try to fix things so this doesnt happen to another autistic Hopefully.

You've lost all respect for all cops? Forgive me for judging, but doesn't that seem a wee bit... harsh? Perhaps it would take you a few months of living in another country, say, our neighbor to the south, to realize how wonderful, on the whole, our American police force is. They are the reason we can walk and drive around our towns without constant paranoia.

Item 1: by definition, paranoia is an excessive or unreasonable fear. I find irony in your usage here.

Item 2: call me a bleeding heart with no grip on reality, but I believe it's possible to have a safe society with minimal (meaning, a fraction of what happens in the US) police brutality.

Item 3: with greater responsibility comes. . .well. . . greater responsibility. If we hand them guns and pay them to keep us safe, it's a fair thing to hold them to a higher standard of responsibility in their use of violence.

Social difficulties, poor response to anxiety and sensory defensiveness
may lead to conflict with police in high pressure situations and patients
being arrested for behaviors that others would not be prosecuted for.

restrain, person becomes agitated and aggressive, leading to assault or
charges of resisting arrest.

It seems to be a known occurrence.

8O I am so sorry this had to happen. I really think police over-react just because someone is a young adult.

I found a website: www.papremisealert.com

Started by a cop who has a child with autism...education, education! Hope it helps somehow.

Please be good to yourself. Take the time you need.

Those cop should be sued, thy don't seem capable of doing their jobs. Thats what pisses me off about the police. They don't deal with the real criminals, cause they're cowards. They just waste their time on innocent people, like giving old ladies speeding fines, but don't bother getting stuck into the evil people that walk the streets, cause that would be too much work for them, most policeman are just pathetic losers.

shut up, moron! I didn't run from the cops! I think your on the wrong site anyway. My friend has autism, of course she could freak out when the police are pulling her over, they should have dealt with the situation a lot better than they did.

Yeah it is, but the police didn't deal with the situation correctly. I'm not blamming you, maybe you should just read what your going to comment about before you say anything though
