If this conversation ever actually occurred, show the priest your OP from this thread, and ask him if your understanding is correct. I'll pretty much guarantee that he'll freak out over how badly he was misunderstood. If he says that you did understand him correctly, find another church.

For anyone who thinks he isn't a troll, notice the lack of replies back from him: Also, as stated, firing off several threads and then not returning to them, is pretty much what he always has done, and look: That's the case again here.

He's not going to post here (although with my luck, he will just for me saying that), so don't waste your energy.

I know he's trollish, but why not answer his threads if I have an answer? The fact is we don't know if he truly considers the replies he gets or not.

And God, in turn, created people like him to remind us to appreciate our own innate sense of decency and ability to reason.

OT: so interesting you were a Quaker. i really enjoyed learning about the Quakers in university and i felt at the time that it was a faith i could choose for myself (along with a couple of others), though i don't recall much about the religion now.

is it weird if i tell you that you seem very fascinating to me? i always look forward to your posts.

No, it's not weird. You always seem very intelligent and I enjoy reading your posts.

A lot of peed-off Catholics join the Quakers. They accept everyone, but they have high moral standards amongst themselves, so it's hard to really get into the church's organisation - although anyone can minister at meetings. You have to live a simpler life than the mainstream and be very dedicated to political causes. I didn't want to get arrested for protesting against nuclear weapons by entering the Faslane base. I was too focused on my studies and didn't want a criminal record. I think that disappointed them

The difference is intent. A troll by definition posts controversial topics with an intent to stir trouble. This dude is hurting inside and he's venting here. He's stuck in the cycle of recognizing his issues > complaining about his issues > not making any effort to fix his issues > complaining about his issues > etc... That's nuts if you ask me, but it's pretty common around here actually. :-/ He needs someone to show him the way out.
Then again... he did make some earlier posts (before he created threads at a fast rate) and I recall he had other difficulties with others in his life, which could have been traumatic, so some of us could be wrong with the 'troll' thing.

However, it doesn't explain at all why he never returns to the threads. Ever. Also, it only vaguely explains why some of his threads come across as inciteful. I'm not sure we're getting the full story here in this thread, granted there is a story.

Noone with an ASD has ever had poor communication skills or been unintentionally offensive.
But with several threads, one would think he would return a post in at least one of them.

ASD or not, it would help both him and us if we knew he at least checked one of his threads.

Serves you right for asking stupid people questions.

It's sad that a priest espoused this point of view.

Obviously he does not subscribe to the same kind of faith that many others subscribe to, which emphasize helping/supporting those who are less fortunate. As an Aspie, I don't like to be considered as a "less fortunate" comparison with which to contrast NTs, but within the context of an NT world, we are at a distinct disadvantage.

If you are not comfortable with your priest's assessment, please consider seeking another source to discuss your issues with - through a local health clinic and/or mental health practitioner familiar with AS/ASD.

At the resteraunt I worked back in the 90's there was this waitress who partied all the time even though she was 19 and already had two kids. One of her little girls got bone cancer and this really bitchy waitresses who was a jesus freak told her god was punishing her through her daughter's cancer for her sinful lifrstyle. The boss had to fire her imediately before one of the other waitresses beat her ass infront of the customers. Talk like this can generate a lot of hate maybe you should avoid this priest before he fills you full of self hate.

I don't believe in god in that way but I'm still not going to go against it. What my family believes is there is a god for every family. So all the problems and so on what go on in my family is all upto our ''god''. We all have our beliefs about god, so if you disagree with the way my family believes than you are practically going against my beliefs. So anyway - here's my theory:-

It was July, 1989, and God felt bored, because everyone in this family were NTs and were just carrying on with mundane life, and he wanted to see some woe going on. Each time he tried making a problem, they solved it themselves, then life went on as normal. He thought this was boring, so he suddenly had an idea. A few children of my generation were born, and he just made them NTs, so he thought he could have fun deciding how the next born child will be. ''Hmm,'' he thought, ''maybe she could have a disability - something what makes her whole life one big nightmare. That way I could plant loads of problems on her and watch her struggle more. This will be so fun!'' So he thought of giving her Down's Syndrome, and felt excited. Then he stopped. If she had Down's Syndrome, she will probably be more happy in herself, being ''ret*d''. He wanted to give this new child something where she is able enough to take part in the mainstream society, but really struggle at mundane things in other ways, because she'll then be smart enough to know how she should be but too dumb to not be able to act like she should be. He racked his brains and just couldn't find an answer. He wanted something what can't be cured. Then he thought of Aspergers. ''Yes!'' he shouted to himself, ''I'm such a genius!'' And the child was born the very next year. She was such a normal baby without showing any symptoms of AS that god began to feel annoyed. Even when she was three she was no different at all to any other toddler. She mixed well at pre-school, and did all the other milestones at the average ages. God got cross, so when she started school he decided to make her not cope with it, and be ''naughty''. So she was very hard work, and all the parents and teachers were worried. And from that day onwards, god always tried to give more unlucky sutuations for the girl.

OK - most of that was sarcasm, but also my theory of why he gave AS to only me and nobody else in my family.

Ah, Catholic priests. I have always had a hard time with the Catholic or Orthodox denominations; they always had a narrow little norm-box that people had to fit in, including my curebie fifth-grade teacher. My church is a bit more accepting of Aspies, especially because the pastor's niece has it. (The pastor's wife said that Aspies were made to show how special God creates others, and how they can be so smart and intelligent, or something like that. She's nice.)

God created Aspies for the same reason He created sub atomic particles.

Maybe it has nothing to do with "God". Maybe autism is a form of evolution.

Been reading some of the OP's other posts, and have concluded that he's a troll.
