I understand. You don't want to get locked up. Your experience sounds worse than mine but I wouldn't willingly go back either. I was in once for a 30 day evaluation when I was 14. I was lucky that I never was medicated or restrained but it was my first time spending the night away from home and it was pretty distressing.

I think what you need is a caseworker that will handle your money properly and make sure you have a roof over your head and groceries and Medicaid.

...I think much of my problems now come from " caseworkers " .
Going back to when I was in San Francisco , briefly , a social services agency wormed their wasy into my life , took my payee status from me (through deception/lies) , then , when they were supposed to pay the tax on a small money-paying interest I inherited from my father , refused to make a timely payment , losing me that interest .
Then , they blatantly spat in my face/wriggled away from me ~ and have continued to do so
When I tried to get help from a lawyer , pro bono , when I lived in Santa Cruz , this lawyer turned out to be utterly incompetent ~ if not in fact malicious ?
My SSD being handled by a payee has , immediately , f****d me up ~ I lost about 27% of this month's check because of a f**k-up with the ATM when I went to get it :...........(
