So did they bully their mothers and were rude to their fathers when they were born? Is that what you mean?
Well, some teachers are blind to what's actually going on around them. I've certainly seen that happen many times, unfortunately.

Authorities in general are blind to bullying and discrimination.

Not every person in authority is like that. Generalizing is really not a good thing to do because it quickly leads to stereotyping.

I've never heard of a teacher who defended a student who was bullied. Teachers understand that bullying is part of the way the social apparatus works and they don't want to be accused of non-compliance.

Whether you perceive people as jerks may actually be coloring your responses. Also, High school is Jerk land by definition. It is where people are truly forming who they are. They are progressing from being taken care of and following rules to actual adults who find their place in the hierarchy. So, yeah, jockeying for social position is part of it. And, I have certainly seen my share of mean people. Knew a high school girl who led on a boy just to dump him publicly in a humiliating way. So, you will also have those power trips. But, it only intensifies once you're in the 'real' world.

It sounds as if you're a bit bitter because you don't fit in. You have a right to feel that way. But, you don't have the right to force your way of looking at things on others.

If it weren't for a few good people, I would have had the crap beaten out of me. Even worse, I've had teachers bully and belittle me. But, there were teachers who stood up for me. There were authority figures who did the same.

So, I can't believe it's all doom and gloom for you. But, I can believe that you are filtering everything that way. I just don't agree with your hypothesis. Lack of examples, lack of anything but general crankiness.

The flip side of this is that your meme thread was hilarious in my opinion. And, I approach that the same way I am approaching this. Pure analysis, sorting and application of past experiences.

It honestly reminds me of people who get offended at "Merry Christmas" and other things like that because it has a religious connotation. Let's get real here. If ANYBODY ever comes up to me and wishes me a "Merry Christmas", Happy Hanukkah, Happy Ramadan, etc. Etc. I just take it as a good will measure in a custom that they observe. Since it is their culture and therefore sincere wishes for good things, I LIKE it!!. But to get incensed because it is something you disagree with overlooks the true meanings of their communications.

Hahahaha....I laugh because it's so funny how external stimuli effect people differently. I like the rain and dull days with rain. For you, it's apparently the opposite. But, ain't it funny how the same things can be so positive for one, but so negative for another?

I actually hate sunny days. The bright light and glare actually trigger a response of being sleepy. I think I could a very happy vampire. Always liked the night better. Then the lights are little glowy things that punctuate space. I love the little explosions of color and sometimes animated lights at places like Hong Kong, China, well, really any of Asia. I love the neon colors and such.

^Yes it is, actually. Hopefully the sun will come out later today. I'm actually a lot like Amber from Rune Factory 4: the sun gives her extra power and energy, so then she ends up even more cheerful, silly, and optimistic than usual!

I love rainy, cloudy, dreary, snowy days! The darker the better. I abhor sunny days for various reasons.
