Probably not since neandrathals were basicaly humans. If a person mated with a chimpanzee however it would be.

Neanderthals were considered humans not animals. It would not be considered bestiality.
This is one of the strangest topics I have seen on this message board.

I would also like to add a new dimension to the discussion by bringing up the idea of extra-terrestrials. Do you guys think hundreds of years from now it will be like Star Trek where we live side by side with different alien species? Would mating with a Klingon be considered Beastiality?

Nah, I think that would be considered as a new word, "Xenality" perhaps?

... That depends on how you define humanity versus animals.

I think is a bit of an insult to call Neanderthals animals.
Even though animals in their own right are awesome, and not that much different then humans.

The man factor is the ablitiy to communicate with one anouther.
Give consent, you know?

Bears don't speak english.

Neanderthals don't either, but they are on roughly the same level, you know?
One would think they would have the same basic human traits.
Emotion wise, and thought process wise.

Even if we can't prove that bears don't look up at the sky and think about going to the moon, or where the moon came from..
We know that other humans think about these things because we can talk...

I don't know if that makes sense.
I'm tired.

But I don't think it would be Bestiality.

Xenophilia topic

Send in the Neanderthals! (Thought they were extinct.) Then send in the DNA extractors!

I could find that study for you if you like.

it sure explains my ex wife Ogghelda

Aren't Neanderthals a sub-species that died out?

there is still some debate on wither they interbred, I thinks its possible, but there isn't any mitochondrial proof as of yet

How many Chromosomes did neanderthals have? Shouldn't the offspring have been sterile since they were hybrids?

Its still open on if they interbred, since the mDNA and DNA samples are degraded, it shows there is a 99.5% to 99.9% similarity between both species, the answer is in that .5% to .1% variance
the great apes have 48 chromosomes, I would tend to think that since Homo sapiens neanderthalensis and Homo sapiens are closer on the evolutionary tree, they should have a similar amount of chromosomes, we have 46 & chimps have 48, and by the facial reconstructions of some, they are very close to modern human, as in indistinguishable.

Thought I would take an old post on Neanderthals, since its kind of relevant

First thought I had about this thread when I first saw it should be obvious since I'm a Sonic fan.

My favorite part: Jesus is an Aspie... that was pretty obvious to me after learning what AS was. I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought that.

My opinion: Neanders people, so okay.

Depends on how cute they are and what other assets they might have. Know any?

Well, Dolphins are known for their intelligence and their freindliness towards humans, however I really couldn't bring myself to have 'Fun With A Porpoise'. I also think that it would be considered beastiality, and doubly illegal due to the fact that they are Protected Marine Mammals. --Besides, how can you actually have rational discourse with one, much less communicate with one?

Maybe they're just autistic and you need to give them time.
