This is why 2 deaf parents can have a hearing child, 2 dwarf parents a normal growth child, ret*d parents - a normally functioning one and obviously 2 autistic parents a child capable of emoting, communicating and empathizing.

Um, no. Not really.

I just noticed your avatar.
Beau - why do you live in a hel*hole? Can you not emerge from there? Are you happy living in a hel*hole? Some people are happy living in misery, I am only curious to know why this is your home.

Thanks.

If children live with criticism,
they learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility,
they learn to fight.
If children live with fear,
they learn to be apprehensive.
If children live with pity,
they learn to feel sorry for themselves.
If children live with ridicule,
they learn to be shy.
If children live with jealousy,
they learn what envy is.
If children live with shame,
they learn to feel guilty.
If children live with tolerance,
they learn to be patient.
If children live with encouragement,
they learn to be confident.
If children live with praise,
they learn to appreciate.
If children live with approval,
they learn to like themselves.
If children live with acceptance,
they learn to find love in the world.
If children live with recognition,
they learn to have a goal.
If children live with sharing,
they learn to be generous.
If children live with honesty and fairness,
they learn what truth and justice are.
If children live with security,
they learn to have faith in themselves and those around them.
If children live with friendliness,
they learn that the world is a nice place in which to live.
If children live with serenity,
they learn to have a peace of mind.
With what are your children living?

Actually no I didn't forget....

The "random" factor you talk about is a clearly understood function of Medelian genetics and it operates under clearly understood mathematical rules. Those rules work for anything that has a genetic code. If it didn't, stock breeders would have been out of business thousands of years ago. It works for humans just as well as it works for cows, dogs, horses or sheep. That's the difference between science and magic. Science works, magic is make believe.

AspieDave is correct. There doesn't have to be a "random factor" in order for offspring to possess traits that the parents do not. You see, both parents could be dominant for a particular trait, but they also may have recessive alleles (an alternative form of a gene) for a totally different trait, but is blocked by the dominant one. However, if both of them have recessive alleles, their union will yield a percentage of offspring that possess that trait. So, two parents with blue eyes can have a child with brown eyes. It isn't random, it's as AspieDave said, a mathematical rule with which you can predict the exact percentage of an offspring having a trait (25% in my example). For a better explanation, check out the wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punnett_square

The problem with the idea of not being a TV in the home, is that then a child will watch TV at other children's homes, unless the child is completely isolated in a community of people who don't use television, or else forbidden to associate with children who have televisions. I'd rather, if I had children, that if they're going to watch something that will potentially do that (and I agree 100% that a lot of the effect is unconscious), that they at least would do it around me so that we can discuss what it's doing to their bodies, instead of around other people. Again, if you forbid something, children will seek it out, and outside your supervision range.

I'm personally more concerned about political propaganda on TV than violence, though, even though violence is a major concern in and of itself. There's a whole lot of subtle propaganda all the time. Last night I saw a political debate on TV, and then I got to watch commentators make claims about the debate that didn't actually happen. Like just making stuff up. But people will remember what those commentators said, and believe it is true, even though the things didn't happen. They also had almost no commentary on one of the people in the debate even though he did a very good job.

This is non-issue in homes where the parents homeschool their kids and a TV never even enters the equation. The psyche is affected by all stimuli whether conscious or un. The brain registers EVERYTHING - and that everything trickles down into nerve responses which then trigger the variants - heart beat, temp, pulse, glandular activity etc. If the experience via an act of violence is witnessed, there is contraction - as a primitive reflex in self-preservation. Then there is a release of cortisole, adrenaline and others that rev up the system in order to flee a dangerous situation.

Some people, at some point, are so addicted to this rush, they no longer get a regular buzz from watching mere violence, but the need becomes one of being pro-active - seeking out life-threatening activities - for the rush - watching violent porn, creating arguments, hostilities and may even act out in domestic violence, road rage and meltdowns to get a dose of adrenaline - that funnily enough calms them.

The nervous system becomes topsey turvy, up is down and down is up. Good is bad and bad is good. And it's just a hop, skip and jump to prison, a hospital, a dealer, gang or other morgue from there because the human heart and brain can take only so much before they crack.

I would not get into this topic as black & white, as they are doing the same with boy racers, & traffic lights, that the green light is what is making them speed, & racing games that are not true reality...

A) why does someone burn they wheels & drive off fast from a parked position with no light's at all
B) why do they start racing as soon as they see each other down the motorway.
C) why does the person do it on the road. ( because immature is not welcome on a track ).
D) why do they drive at the wrong speeds in bad weather & lose control.
E) why do they burn rubber in car parks, & do very dangerous things that people are stupid enough
to stand that close ( This is also seen on rally tracks. Been on bend’s that high probability that
is the most likely the car will come off. )

It's got nothing to do with the light or the games, It's called impressing your mate, showing off, adrenalin rush, showing off to your girlfriend & trying to impress her, egg anyone off long enough & they will do stupid things, its normally when the same people get together & support them & push them into doing it, but they is a problem they, fact is I drive a jeep, why do I drive a jeep because it slows down the environment around you, I keep to the speed limits, I don't race, don't show off, & what does a real racer do, he drives like a racer in control on the track & to find the racer on the road you should normally look to the one keeping to the law, because he knows that the car is not built for high speed crash's as much as a race machine is, plus he is in control

What do they have that I don't have:- A) I have a low novelty seeking gene... B) I don't have a GF or Mates to show off to... C) No mates to egg me on... D) Know that I am not invincible... & I notice this male thing of thinking your better at something than you really are at it..

You can not apply logic to this topic in a same way, as not everyone is the same, or has the same levels, this is also a reason people call people who are low novelty seekers boring, coz they don't need as much of an adrenalin rush, not the fact they wimps, they just get more uncomfortable than enjoyment out of it, them people are more likely to like the game versions more, because it takes away that feeling they get from the racing, most of them go in to high panic when doing driving test's when trying to join a motorway... & what happen's when they get back in the car, they still going by the law & people can tell reality from fantasy, it’s nothing to do with it, they just have poor common sense, i.e:- urban jumping They stupid enough to push them self’s too far & try & do something that professionals work months or so on to get to that difficult lvl to find out what they limit is..

Thanks for posting those links. The link http://www.cfspages.com/bernie.html was to a page titled "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome? Or Chronic Mercury Poisoning?" It reminded me of a scientific paper called "Autism: a Novel Form of Mercury Poisoning" found at http://www.autismwebsite.com/ari/vaccine/mercury.htm Both papers have over 100 scientific references to support their claims. I have both autism and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). My mom had lots of amalgams before I was born and my CFS started after I got amalgams. It looks like mercury from dental amalgams may have caused both my autism and CFS. I plan to get my fillings removed soon and start chelation. I think it will cure me of autism and CFS. I hope to post a testimonial after I'm cured.

You know...

My personal crackpot theory is that autism came first and that the neurotypicals are evolving away from us.

Look at the way formal letters are composed in the 16th century. The 14th century. Look at what we know of the earliest humans and how they lived.

I posit that we are the originals and were, if not the vast majority, probably the people running things.

However, as transportation improved, NTs started running into eachother more. Their non-verbal cues, etc. made them extremely competitive.

The world's population has gone up by 700% or so in 150 years.

What if that's because the NTs weren't able to find and breed with eachother in high quantity before that?

Look at the population boom. Look at the way war and society and culture and correspondence have changed.

o you romantic snakeless paddy, i gather you subscribe to the neanderthal theory
you must be of irish origins

Some people aren't happy unless they can blame someone else for their problems.

I have AS, I was born with it, it's genetic. Whether or not I was protected against a bunch of diseases that might have killed me has absolutely nothing to do with it. Brushing my teeth with flouride toothpaste had nothing to do with it. Honest.

But if you want to continue to be the crackpot wandering the streets and yammering about how the earth is flat because you just KNOW it's flat, despite all evidence to the contrary, be my guest.

haha here is my son's history

2 Breastfed organic living unvaccinated parents (one an aspie) very few medications for either parents ever. Food based organic prenatal vitamins, no fish eaten during pregnancy over mercury concerns. Happy marriage with gleeful anticipation of his birth.

Drug free home water birth.

No vaccinations

Breastfed untill he started solids (and still today at 2.5 years old), not a drop of formula ever

Suprise, he is a carbon copy of his father (me) and yes we are both aspies (well he is PDD-NOS till he gets older because of the age requirements).

Also, we don't find our lives to be isolated or sad. We ENJOY who we are. We celebrate the way we were when we were born.

If there were a recipe for creating more aspies, we would be more likely to procreate in the future, because we love being parents to our aspie boy.

I don't know what any popycock language the geneticists have conjured up. I do know that nothing is predictable 100% and even under the closest scrutiny of a microscope with 20 doctors all supervising, nothing is a sure thing. As for stock breeders, they are going out of business and the only reason they stayed around for so long was the human addiction to meat and meat products regardless of the health risks involved. But going out of busincess they certainly are. The new era of cloning is upon the world. And that too will fail, just as everything else science has gotten their hands on because without the God Factor in the equation rendering life complete and in harmony with all of nature, in its rightful place, there will always be failure. And how magic even figures into this...? Who knows.

I missed the part about you and husband's teeth being amalgam free or that you yourself were never vaccinated.

Mendelian genetics isn't "poppycock," it's one of the most important lessons taught in biology and a scientific fact. Check out my previous posted link about Punnett Squares. Genetics is really quite beautiful in it's precision. I respectfully disagree (as a matter of fact I was having a similar discussion with Zendell on another thread) about cloning. I think scientists' study and advancements in genetics is one of the most important strides in modern science. It is theorized that cloned tissue could be used for transplants; cloning could save a lot of lives. I don't believe in a god, actually I believe that if society were to more strongly embrace science (simply accepting it's products doesn't count) it will do a lot of good for the public.

The distinction here is to assume responsibility. The poison dealers, the consumers and the parents. No one here is seeking for a patsy or a scapegoat, but rather to glean knowledge from what is available out there, apply it to health situations, learn from history and find alternatives to toxic substances offered in the way of food, drugs, toys and anything else produced with harmful, disease inducing ingredients.
