If NT, who would you want to be?

Lab Pet is a female heterosexual Autist/Aspie, for context. A 'normal' female, except Autistic.

About my Q: To clarify, I don't emulate others or wish to be another, but sometimes I've known or met another female that I should like or imagine I might be if I were not Autistic. Not too often, but I've had that 'moment.'

I'll not give specifics, of course, but at University there's another grad student in my program. If I were NT, I would like to be like her. Meaning, she's very confident and well-spoken. Her emotions, from my perspective, seem VERY sophisticated and she's sensitive to others but also assertive. For me, I cry a lot....just no emotional control. She has a boyfriend and friends too. Her hair does look somewhat like mine, blondish and kind of long. I can seem......as if I'm made of ice.

Then, my friend (male) has a friend that I met once and she's communicated with me. She has a baby, married to a doctor, & I wish my voice could be like hers. She seems to be really likeable, that one would want to approach; nice personality and articulate. If I were NT maybe she would want to be my friend.

So many I love on WP, but I know few NT females on WP.....maybe I wish I could be just like DW_a_mom since she's very diplomatic with others and seems remarkably intuitive to me! In ways I cannot begin to know. I like natesmom too....others. I don't have a mother so I don't know.

I don't know about 'famous' or known females.....but maybe <thinking....> one like the local radio DJ since she has an all-purpose nice personality. She's probably not like that off-the-air though. Just do not know. Maybe Beyonce? Since she seems not like other entertainers in that she seems more in-control.

Who would you be?

^8O eeek! I couldn't imagine...

Ummm....i would want to be able to use my NT powers for good and not evil...I would like to be an intelligent NT (as opposed to a dumb aspie..as I sort of am...)

If NT would imply..that I would be able to drive a car..not have such a difficult time cleaning and organizing...not feel completely stressed and overloaded all the time...so that I could focus more on actually doing important things...and I would also be able to talk to people without stress..and understand people better...and it would not take so long to get from point a to point b...and I would not fixate so much on unnecessary clutter...

I'd still be an artist/musician...perhaps one who travels more...is able to help other people in more productive ways....I would still like to be able to understand/accept/communicate with people who are on the spectrum...I would just...myself..be more functional I guess...

What Labpet likely means describes an "inspiration" as a person, is it not?

The first person that came to my mind was Carole Thatcher because of her strong, positive attitude to life, which apparently came from her mother former Primer Minister, Lady Margaret Thatcher.

Might not be my final choice after reflection but certainly a favoured role model in my life

Ian Kilmister (Lemmy) from Motorhead. Except that I wouldn't smoke and probably wouldn't do amphetamines, either, but I would have the social sense not to knock people who do smoke, and whatever else I do that puts people off. Kickass musician, his talents also include playing the bass guitar, and he gets lots and lots of girls. I would have to be more than just NT to be like him, he's something beyond NT.

I'd want to be the very way I would be without autism.

My personality traits clash all the time with my autism. Take the autism away and I'd be that overly charming young lady with very keen social skills that gets her way but who's also thoughtful of others.

Cats are SO not NT.

I guess I'd want to be somebody who could still do what I like to do now--a geeky sort of NT, with a love for science.

I'd want to be me without the sensory issues and with the ability to use a phone. I think I'm social enough and I like my obsessions.

I really do not know.
I am tending to agree with Sora...just me - i like me in some ways - without all the "issues" that come with my ASD.

Sometimes I'll still consider who I might be if I were Neurotypical......but that's hard to envision (and I might not want to). Interesting replies, all - cool video clip.
