People with autism vs social norms / bad behaviour

I read this story just now:

It talks about how people's behaviours are modified by people around them (sometimes in a bad way). The inspiration for the story being the media focus on British MP's (Member's of Parliament) taking advantage of expenses allowance systems so as to profit from them.

I wonder if people with autism are more immune to this.

One of my more extreme views is that driving (commuting) in internal-combustion-engine (gasoline) vehicles instead of walking/cycling/travelling-by-public transport if physically and mentally capable of doing so is wrong. I believe people do it because it is a "social-norm" despite all the local and global health, environmental and political problems this wasteful activity gives rise to.

That's my view anyway.
