This is why I haven't painted in so long, because whenever I do I know I'll have a real war with myself over when is a good time to take a break, or stop altogether. Also, when I paint, if anyone interrupts me (my son is a great example) I find it so hard to get back into the mode I was in to begin with, which for me, becomes very frustrating. So basically, I LOVE to paint, but I have to keep it all tucked away until I've got a huge chunk of time to myself, which is almost never.
Something very like that happens to me a lot too......instead of just getting into my special interests and disappearing without trace like I "should" be doing, mostly these days I just put the whole thing on hold, waiting for an ideal time that might never come, because I know what will happen to the rest of my life if I let myself get fully immersed in one subject - everything else will be neglected, or I'll break off the special interest and then never find my way back to it properly.
