I've noticed a lot of people here who can't mix foods, or eat things with pieces in it.. Kris is that way too, he doesn't like "crunchy stuff" (like chocolate chips or nuts) in ice cream, and won't eat cinnamon buns if they have nuts in them. He also doesn't like cake with ice cream. Either one, or separate, but not together.
I'm the opposite. I mix weird things. I like everything mixed! I even mix different kinds of cereal, and when I go to places where you get your own soda, I mix like diet coke with some lemonade or fruit punch.
:? Anyone else do that, or am I just a total weirdo?

It all depends on what the food is. I dislike mixing sweet food with non-sweet foods (ie pineapple on pizza is just wrong!). On my plate I do usually keep my foods from intermixing, the only exception being mashed potatoes, I mix it with some veggies or whatever meat is accompanying it.

I don't think I am like this. I am the type who would put Tabasco sauce on ice cream.

I don't mind some food that is mixed.

When I'm at a meal I eat all of one food, then all of the next, then all of the next ,etc. I can not eat a couple of bites of something, then a couple of bites of another, then back to the first, onto a third, etc. I don't know how to describe it. If i knew what to call it I'd have made another thread about that.

Will eat very few foods. Most foods have to be crunchy, or will not be touched. I don't like mixing foods or having multiple foods at a time-- unless to add something very crunchy like nuts to it.

Will not eat meat or dairy. Bread makes me feel bad. Too much sugar makes me feel sick.

I am very much like this as well. I usually start with the food I like least and move on towards the more preferable ones, but I always finish one before moving to the next.

The weird part...yes you are, but that's what makes you kinda neat

The food part, yes I mix and match some culinary varieties on the plate, but when eating at a restaurant I refrain from such festivities. I tend to eat all things systematically equal, so that it looks like I am proper and have manners or something. At home it's a different experience completely, I might eat all of one thing at a time before moving to the next, or perform an on-site experimental research project.

The texture part, I happen to like most textures, but the dry powdery texture of liver is absolutely painful to tolerate. OH...and the Evil act of Boiling Okra should be punishable by something slow, slimy and fatal

There are certain foods that i like mixed together that i will mix together. But with most foods i prefer to eat them separately. If there's a little accidental mixing on the sides i don't freak out or anything, but i would just prefer each thing keeping to itself. Also... Ever since i was a little child my family always commented on how i would only eat one thing at a time. It just made more sense to me that way. It didn't occur to me until recently that most people actually take a bite of one thing, then a bite of a different thing. It doesn't really make sense at all.

I don't like crunchy stuff in ice cream either. That, and I cant deal with the texture of watermelon. I think those are my only Aspie food issues.

I think when I was little I would only eat one thing at a time, but I've mixed stuff as long as I can remember. Love food, will try new things, etc.
