Earplug help!

Hi, so I've decided now is the time to walk down the route of earplugs. I have found one within' my price range but need to know, will this allow me to hear noise clearly, but at a lower sound level?

Alpine MusicSafe Pro Filter Ear Plugs is their name. Any info about whether these are good enough to use when out and about, is welcomed!

i have simular earplugs myself, although they are of a different brand.
in my experience, they indeed lower the level of sounds around you to a more tolerable level without effecting the relative levels,, almost as if turning down the "master volume" of life.

how big this effect is of course depends on the filter you chose, i have a 10 dB(a) filter in mine which is enough normally, and i am still able to hold a conversation normally.

Amazing things are being done with ear plugs. I have a set made for shooting. They block out gun noise very well, yet still allow voices to be heard. I've never seen anything quite like them.

I paid $150.00 for musicians earplugs and lost a filter. They wanted to charge me $100.00 for new filters. I went back to using the hearos purple foam ones from Walmart. They are not that much different from the plugs I paid $150.00 for.
