Psychiatrists deal with medication and aren't really meant to help beyond that. Psychologists do the helping and the therapy. Neurologists do autism evaluations the best. Finding professionals that specialize in autism is key.
I was diagnosed by Psychiatrists in the past with Bipolar II with rapid cycling, OCD, PTSD, Panic and anxiety disorder with agoraphobia, major depression, Borderline personality disorder, ....
after seeing a Neurologist, most of them were either dropped or absorbed. (for instance, my traits that gave me the OCD diagnosis are now just a part of Asperger's.)
The only ones I'm left with are Anxiety Disorder NOS and Asperger's Disorder. My point is, it changes and things comes and go with the diagnostic world. Stop seeing psychiatrists unless you want medication. Thats all they deal with.
