I was feeling a lot of anxiety back in September and October. I took the tough girl mask off, ditched the leather and the green gel. I've also found that I didn't need glasses to begin with. Here I was, without the leather, the gel and the glasses. I've had it in my mind that the people who backed off, over the past two years were finding me out for the first time in two years. Maybe they thought that I was a complete stranger who moved into my part of Langley. Some complete stranger from London, England. It was strange to walk to my volunteer job, without the green gel. I've picked up where I've left off, at the age of 22, in early 1997, before the Austin Powers Days. I couldn't stop looking at my refection in the mirror. I saw that same face that I knew in the summer of 1996. Was that me, or was that Mick Avory? All that I had left in late September to early October was me, the real CockneyRebel, without all the thirlls and gimmicks. I've adjusted quite well, since Mid-October. I was dealing with all this anxiety. because I was stripped of my disquises, all at once and there was this Kinks fan who looks like the heaviest and most childlike Kink. I had nothing to hide, and I've decided to grab the bull by the horns. It's been a wild ride, ever since, and I'm enjoying every minute of it.
I don't need disquises to be cool.
