It was my first meeting with the specialist and after awhile he seemed to be able to ask questions that surprised me how he would know enough to ask.
Near the end he said concluded something like you have poor eye contact and social skills, hard wired, repetitive and restrictive interests etc. etc. so autistic spectrum.
I was expecting hours of testing so am not really sure if this is his suspicion or diagnosis so left my WP status as unknown ...
You can always update that at any time.
My own experience was similar to yours (even though the initital consideration of AS/HFA was mine) when a therapist rather quickly noticed several identifying factors. He did not ultimately write down an official diagnosis, but maybe your specialist did. You might be told more about that during your next visit, and others here on WP can help you know what to consider about how much to tell other people around you.
