But there is nothing threatning about it. Perhaps I have such a dislike of smiling humans because when other kids bullied me they were often times smiling as they hurt or insulted me. I soon learned to interpret smiles as threats and if someone innocenly smiled at me I would smack them. When questioned why I hit them I would reply, "Because s/he was smiling!" I was always told you could tell I was autistic from photographs of me. My eyes apparently had a "blank" look to them and the smile was fake. With being forced to wear extremely uncomfortable clothes and sit in an unnatural position it was all I could do to even fake a smile. Why is it required for one to smile in photographs? I quit smiling for pictures after I saw my brothers' milatary photographs. I always felt it wasn't a true protrail of me when I smiled for a photograph. I not only looked fake I felt fake. My parents seem to like the school pictures where I am not smiling the best. Perhaps if the camera people didn't get so bitchy about how I was supposed to sit and if I was allowed to be more relaxed it would have been an even better pic of me.
