What Do You Enjoy Most About Being Autistic

For me, I don't like to see autism as a disability. Socializing is hard for me, but I am who I am, and I am content with who I am. Not only am I content, but I feel like there are many good qualities about having autism. For me, the ability to persevere is what I consider my greatest trait. I never give up because I can become so obssed with something. This can sometimes be unhealthy, but in the end, I prevail. So, for you, what do you consider your strongest autistic trait and why?

I used to have a low resolution on how I see people. It's not blurry vision, but rather I would not see old people as old or fat people as fat. This also goes for their intentions, which I would habitually judge to be good. However, now my resolution has sharpened and I can see the warts and bumps and wrinkles, and I can sometimes see other things like disingenuous intent and I don't like it.

My strongest trait is my ability to focus on what needs to be get done, for better or worse, and ignore the need to keep the monkeys pleased. This does not win me any friends, but I would not have been able to pursue my science achievements without this focus.

I have a mind of my own and I'm able to be myself in conditions that are the most rigid with judgement.

I enjoy my synesthesia, when i listen to music i get colours and shapes. Major keys are bright; yellow, red, light green, sky blue etc. while sharp/flat notes are more, purple, brown, black, navy blue. also the shapes vary according to the rhythm, time signature, accents etc.
I also have extremely acute hearing. But strangely if i'm listening to music on my headphones and i smell something, i.e. cooking, i have to pause my music so i can identify what the smell is properly. i'm not sure if it's an AS thing or not.

Obsessiveness and the ability to focus tightly on a subject of interest. My feeling is you should always let your psychopathology work for you.

I think that autism is only a disability if it gets in your way. There are many things considered normal that create problems for people and they are not often told they have a disability. Perhaps being too sociable can be a disability if it get's you pregnant more often than you'd like or ends up with you tied up in the back of some stranger's van.

The logical thinking or the ability to enjoy looking for new information about my special intrests. NT will never understand the joy I get from looking for and finding obscure information on stop-motion on the internet.

I sometimes like sensory in the the way of sound. kind of help out in games like if someone is try to sneak behind me or in Racing when I do turns I learn the engine tone for each turn.

I'm different, but I'm also unique. That's one thing I like about it.

The thing I like the most about being autistic is having narrow, intense interests. I enjoy the feeling of being really passionate about things. It feels like a fire burning within.

You don't enjoy autism. You enjoy life.

i am very,very rarely bored.
