Just wanted to share that I've started a blog to talk about my life as an Aspie. In it, I talk about issues such as unemployment and AS as represented in the media. I'd love for you to check out the site and share your thoughts.

Please check out Aspergrrl and let me know what you think, in the comments or on here.

;) That's not me that's Anna Vissi, my favourite Greek singer, circa 1988. That explains the big hair :D

Thanks for making the blog. Right now I'm very interested in aspie as it manifests in the female mind.
In one of your entries it states that extreme emotional sensitivity can develop. I know from Dr. Tony Attwood's commenting that there was always observed a more developed emotional reciprocity for female aspies (as compared to males) but he never put it like that. Any further comments on this matter in your experience and/or studies?

Thanks for checking out my blog. Indeed, greater emotional development in Aspie women than men is something that I have read about. I don't know any males with AS with whom to compare my experiences. However, I have always had a very keen sense of empathy... if something makes me sad, it will make me really sad. I believe that for me this is also related to the sense of justice most Aspies have - I get indignant and angry on behalf of those who are oppressed. This is how I think I experience this emotional sensitivity as an Aspie.

As an adult I was drawn to social work as a profession, because I've always been extremely interested in feelings, in addition to how and why people react the way they do to them. In the early grades of school I used to read psychological and medical texts to learn more about this special interest.

I hope this answers your question :)
