could this kid be an aspie?

ok, so i'm watching "ripley's believe it or not" with ym friend today... there's a 3 year old on it, who, since he was 18 months old, could identify any kind of car. his favorite thing to do was to go to dealerships and walk around saying "that's a grand prix" "that's a dodge ram" "that's a caravan" and so on. i was kinda thinking he was an aspie and then at the end he was at the dealership laughing and... flapping his hands!
besides the hand flapping, which i still do, i used to do the car thing when i wa slittle, only not with cars, but with pictures of sharks... "that's a great white" "that's a hammerhead" "that's a whaleshark" and so on.
it was nice to hear his parents say they planned to nurture his ability and not expliot it.

That does sound autistic.

I could not even talk at that age. It was baby babble at best. But I remember I had a complete fixation on cars. I would just point at them all the time and play with my toy car but I certainly could not tell you if it was a Citreon or a Ford.
At that stage of my life I was very autistic.
