Because they can own the crap out of us in any way with their social abilities and enthusiasm and snappy comments.

The absolutely-very-best people for whom I have ever worked are not Aspies, but that does not mean they should be either placed on pedestals or treated as non-Aspies.

Not really. I most definitely have certain positive aspects due to AS that give me advantages NT's don't have.

I have a high verbal IQ but I'm a visual thinker so I'm good at giving presentations.
I have a very broad range of knowledge because my "special interests" jump around. I will learn everything I can about a particular subject and then move on to another one.
I'm devoid of many of the social insecurities that NT's are because it's a bit irrelevant to me one way or another, so I actually don't have a problem speaking up in a crowd.
I'm very good at being alone.
My parents trusted me when I was a teenager because I had a "good head on my shoulders" and did not buy into the stupidity that most teeangers do. On the contrary, I wanted nothing to do with them.
The big things in life don't stress me (the little things do). My perception of the world is far more broad than that of NTs and it would be difficult to shake my concept of reality. The downside of this is, no, I did not find "Inception" particularly mind blowing. Well composed, but nothing I've never thought of before.
I'm very good at forecasting trends.

I could go on. Sure, there are many things NT's have that it would have been nice to have experienced, but it's a fair tradeoff. I am rich in my own right.

I don't have a pedestal and they'd protest if I tried to pick them up to put them on one. Neurotypicals have feelings too, y'know.

Not really, but it does suck when they get to define what's normal and what's weird just by the sheer number of them.

I actually prefer to put them on bread, squeeze ketchup and mustard on them and devour them.

Yeah I totally agree with this. I really hate the fact they can consider me weird or a bad person because I don't fit into what they perceive to be normal. But no way do I put NT's on a pedestal. If anything it's the opposite and in many ways I look down on them.

To tell you the truth, I feel sorry for them, because they have a fear of autistics, and they go out of their ways to hurt us, and even our own families.

The reason I would put a NT up on a pedastal would be to look up her dress. :P 8O

No, never. I'm scared of some NT's because they can be bullies, I'm scared because they settle with little in life. I fear shallow!! !

That doesn't mean ALL NT's are like this! I have found nice people among NT's, among the mentally ill and the ret*d. When I was just diagnosed I did sort of put them up there (NT's) because somehow I had the image they were perfect and I was a nobody because I couldn't work. Still I didn't want to be like them. The inner conflict almost killed me.

I'm ore laidback these days.
