Hey everyone I need some help in a situation Im currently in that I have no control over and the police just refuse to even help with. I had my one bedroom unit robbed on Tuesday afternoon and ownly personal documents taken. The police assumed at first it was identity theft but then realised it wasn't due to the fact they didn't steal the bank account statements and credit card details. The police said who ever broke into my unit did it to scare me like another form of harassment maybe a warning to move or another threat for something else. Seeing though there weren't any electrical equipment stolen the police said that there wasn't anything else they could do and that was it. I still don't understand why someone would enter my private space and just steal my birth certificate, rent agreement form, my disablitity agency contract form, my report cards from school, my school photos, my high school certificate, my certificates from TAFE and documents from TAFE, Centerlink documents, electricity bills, lions club certificate, hospital documents, documents from seeing the phycologist and my resume its weird. If this is another form of harassment as the police say why isn't there anything been done about it. I have no idea what to do now and Im just wondering should I take the matter further??? does anyone have any ideas???

I have currently been having a few issues with a couple of neighbours who have found out about me having Aspergers Syndrome and they have been making fun of me they think that I am faking it, pretending to be disabled or Aspergers or Impersinating being a disabled person unless you have a physical disablitiy or proper disablity heres the weird thing they have made the assumption that I don't have a disablity but tease me about having a disablity I just don't get that either basicly if these people can't see you with some physical deformity they just won't believe you. When I come home from being out all day they start name calling me saying that Im the disabled one that goes Phsyco, Im a freak, Im a crazy, weirdo, queer, spastic, ret*d, mental that should be medicated and told to go home , that because I have a disablity I am not capable to live in the big wide world and make a life of my own that I should be kicked out of where I am living because I can't handle everyday situations and that I should keep up with their teasing and name calling and shut up get medicated and get over it. Two grown men ran down the stairs of the block of units I live in a few weeks back and admited that they had harrassed me "just to piss me off" they said laughing. Another instance was a Girl yelled out Im not sucking up to you just because I have disablity she feels that she shouldnt have to treat me any different or special prefrence at all and that if she wishes to tease me to keep up with her teasing or move. They knock on my door constantly and my window, try and stir me up when they have a party so their friends can have entertainment and they say hey watch this see how the freak goes off, I have taken the police advice and family, friends, support workers and carers advice and have Ignored them but they know Im Ignoring them there is only as much as I can take, then you have to react back they still continue to harrass me, when I react they then accuse me of picking on them and complain to other neighbours that I am nasty and picking on them. What can I do???? its a no win situation.

This is harassment and well over the line.

There is not much you can do about it other than keep the Police informed (keep a diary of the harassment) and do you best to ignore it.

Hopefully the Police will take this seriously.

I'm sorry to hear about this behavior from your neighbors.

I hate bullies, they are cruel and sadistic people. It is they who have a serious problem, not you.
Being cruel and sadistic is a serious personality disorder, being Asperger's is not. Being Asperger's
is just a different way of thinking/being, it is not really a 'disorder'. Being a bully is a very serious psychological disorder.

These people are harassing you and it is against the law to threaten or harass another citizen. I agree with the person who suggested you keep the police informed and keep a record of the harassment and try to ignore it. Bullies often stop bullying if they see you don't care about it.

I wish you luck with this problem.

Get a friend to secretly video you meeting with these dirt bags.

Show the video of you being criminally harrassed, to the police (keep a secret copy for yourself, in case the cops slack off because your just an aspie)

If you dont have a friend to film, an audio mic on your person could be a secondary option.

I'd say give in and move, but that's gonna be hard without your documents that have been taken (I find it strange that that they've taken ALL of the documents needed for the 100 points of identification for a rental property application, as well as your resume etc, it's like they knew exactly what to take). Not just bullying, this is downright malicious if they're trying to prevent you from living comfortably and gaining employment.

Definitely keep the police in the loop. And ask your family/support workers to help intervene, maybe getting them to confront your neighbours for you and demanding your documents back.

I don't know how the laws are there in Australia but I'd buy a gun, maybe a big dog too. Better they be afraid than be messin with you. I'd blow someone's head off if they came into my home.

Great idea

Unfortunately Australia has pretty strict weapon laws so gun, tazer, landmines, etc, would probably be illegal but a good dog could be nice or better a surveillance system. I'm thinking 360 degree camera coverage. By the way you could try buying a paintball rifle and filling it with bouncing balls  .

If it's possible, I would move.
