I've been covertly studying social interactions in hopes of creating my own categorization of the varying types of relationships (the broadest categories obviously being acquaintances/friends/romantic partners).
Long-term relationships require: rapport, comfort, trust and connection.
Is it possible for two people to trust one another, without feeling comfortable?
I use the analogy of a rollercoaster as evidence that humans at least have the capacity for trust without comfort: while you trust that the rollercoaster is operating safely, you are both uncomfortable and thrilled while riding it.
If t-c is possible between two people, what do you believe to be the long-term effects of such a relationship? Perhaps some of you could speak from personal experience.
