We all know how we hate change... well for me, massive changes may be on the horizon for me in roughly six weeks time. An old co-worker of mine put in a good word for me and dropped my name in the hat for an open position at TV station in Cedar Rapids Iowa. I talked to guy who will be doing the hiring and he sounded very interested. I have an interview in Cedar Rapids on the 4th of October. From what it sounds like, the job is mine to loose.

In this economy you don't pass up these kinds of opportunities, especially since it will mean more money for me. Unlike my situation three years ago (has it been that long!) when I moved to Cheyenne, this time around I feel a deep seated sense of dread at the prospect of having up my entire life and move. The interview doesn't bother me, I know what that will be like as I've done these before.

For me, knowing what to expect is a great thing since I can plan out ahead of time how I'm going to respond. It's just trying to get used to the new surroundings that bugs me. New city, new landmarks, new map layout, new traffic patterns and driver habits to memorize. The first few weeks here in Cheyenne, I was seriously overloaded trying to get around and nearly got into a few accidents.

Please tell me that this is normal train of thought for us.

First off, congrats on your new job offer! Second, I think that those are normal thoughts for *anybody*. Moving can be scary. You have to literally pack your entire life up. You Have to learn new things too. Change is hard and scary. I think you can do it. You've made some great posts over the years, and you always seem to come through. If you really need the job, then I think you should go.

It may be that you're just overly apprehensive. It's something anyone would worry about.

It may be that it is indeed a bad idea, but I wouldn't know. It doesn't sound like one.

5012......first thing, you really look young for 30, so that's an advantage. hahahahahahhaha.

last time i moved it was only 35 miles and i thought i was going to pass out from anxiety several times.

you will get through it. at 30, you can make it with little sweat. sounds like it's going to be a great opportunity, so don't pass it up.

would think the biggest hurdle would be the cultural aspects. might have to sell all your cowboy hats!

good luck in your interview.
