So there is this guy in my hood we see each other when I walk my dog or at the gym and we even played basketball together. As an aspie I am sensitive to people with disabilities and I always try to treat them nicely. Anyway this guy we are talking about has somthing with his name. He always asks me how he's called, over and over again (He does that to many people). He always has his ID with him, he fears of something, someone stealing his name etc. He says he goes to the shrink and he has "thoughts" of life and it is really shows something is wrong with him. So is there such thing a "name" disorder? or is it a mental condition or what?

I am intrigued as of what he has.

Depersonalization and some paranoia? Though it does seem a bit silly to try and guess based on such little information, especially since I am just a half crazed autie anyway.

Maybe just ask the guy. It seems like he's comfortable enough around you to let his guard down at least some.

I have known people that thought you could catch a computer virus! Maybe he doesn't understand the concept of ID theft.

He's just got a touch of insanity. I wouldn't worry about it. Unless you have reason to believe he's violent. There's no "name" disorder. The closest you would get is some sort of atypical agnosia, but it sounds more like a paraniod personality disorder with a dash of something else. Or schizophrenia.
