Everyone knows the left/right brain paradigm, an analytical/creative brain. Most people seem to be closer to one or the other, sometimes based on handedness.

What if I am neither? I am not particularly analytical or creative.

I have studied music for years, (got a degree in it) but I lack the creativity or emotions to compose music

I try programming, and I can't understand it because I lack the patience and analysis abilities, or from lack of attention span.

I just feel like s**t for brains.

Left and right brain claims are generally a popular myth. While there is some specialization in each side of the brain, both sides of the brain generally work together.

yes, but the OP's point was that some work better together, than others.

Well the other half of the myth is that these things are even related to the right and left brain. The truth is the left brain is associated with linguistically reasoning while the right brain is associated with spacial reasoning. The myth started because right brained people tend to be better at visual art while left brained people make better scientists.

YEAH, only meant it as a metaphor.

I am terrible with spacial reasoning, but excellent linguistically.

I am at my best with rote activities, which is why I thought programming would be excellent for me, but that also requires excellent math skills (I guess you could call that spacial) and creativity.
