Does anyone do this thing with their fingers? Sometimes when I am really anxious, I tap the tip of my index finger rapidly against the tip of my thumb, and sometimes against the tips of my other fingers (going from middle finger to pinky and pinky back to middle finger). For me, it seems to relieve tension. Is this an Aspie thing? I guess I'm beginning to wonder how many things I do are AS, when I thought they were NT.

Yes. I like to mime playing the piano as well, although I don't know how to play it.

NTs tap their fingers too. When I went to the doctors today, there were a lot of people waiting, and a lot of them were fiddling with their fingers and tapping their index finger on the side of the chair, and gently tapping their foot.

I do this a lot.

I tap both of my feet when I'm bored or tap my fingers. Kids get annoyed at me during tests for this.

Not only my fingers, but my toes as well! I never realized I did this until I creeped someone out doing it . I cannot sit still, so if you leave any object near me, I will endlessly fidget with it.
