Does anyone here have trigger--->taste synaesthesia?

I'm not sure if this is synaesthesia, but once a week or so, I get a weird taste in my mouth from an unidentified trigger. I would describe it as "It tastes like detergent smells". It doesn't taste like detergent tastes, and there is no smell. I'm not eating anything when it happens. There's nothing unusual going on when it happens. It can happen at any time, seemingly randomly, and I have no idea what is causing it.

Anyone experienced something like this and/or figured out the trigger too?

Yes I do, but I always thought of it as a smell or taste "hallucination" rather than synesthesia. There was never a trigger for it, it just happens randomly. I find it quite interesting, so it has never bothered me at all.

I wonder if it's because I really like the smells of all kinds of detergents, so my brain rewards me every once in awhile with the smell-conflated-with-taste of one of the detergents. The whole thing persists for a few minutes each time.

A certain shade of dark blue tastes very dry to me. Like chalk.

Yes. accents can trigger scent and taste associations for me. Specific words can trigger taste and texture associations.

Almost forgot: Colors trigger taste associations as well.

Mine has to do with food or certain smells. Just seeing the words of some foods are enough to smell them and I can faintly taste them.

For example, these words trigger a memory of their smells: banana, cinnamon donuts, strawberry, lemon, lime, peanuts, etc.
I do get bad tastes in my mouth like cigarettes and when that happens I say any word to get that taste and odor out of my mouth. Usually, the strawberry smell/taste.
