Like for example, if I notice something about someone, they are attractive, they look funny, they look cool, they look like someone famous, they look like someone I know etc..

I find I keep staring at them. THen I look away and then I stare at them again.

I also do this with evaluation of other things like I look for hair loss on dudes as My hair is thinning and I examine guys hair and stare at it etc..I examien there clothes.

However, though my thoughts or non offensive the other poeple if they cath me repeatedly starign at them will get creeped out they have no idea why I am starign or keep looking at them. Maybe I wanna beat them up etc...or what? they have no idea? Why is this wierdo keep glancing at me?

SOmetimes I can do it over and over and I only realsie I am doing it when I realise the person has caught me starign at them and is now looking at me. Then I think oh whys he looking at me etc...then Im like ah I mustve freaked them out so have to stop looking in their way.

The funy thing is though If I see a cute girl I keep cehcking her out and if she starts lookign at me im like cool she must think im hot too. Lmao

Then I go home and think oh shiiiiiiii I prob freaked that girl out.

Is it a common thing for aspies to stare at and evaluate people or just normal human

I do that too-I look at clothes and shoes of other people and I do tend to stare then look away too.

I was in a McDonald's in Abbotsford not to long ago. I saw a man in his 50s who looked like a celebrity that I look up to. I stared, than I looked away and I kept doing it.

No, I think it's an Aspie thing NOT to stare at people, for 2 reasons:-

1. Aspies don't like eye-contact
2. I always get stared at by NT people. I see the gaze in the corner of my eye, which ''burns a hole in my face''.

I agree 100% I mean starign when they cant see you

Like watching them from afar etc...

I saw a cute girl form my window outside one day. I just sat at the window and watched for like 1-2 hours.

She couldnt see me as I was up real high.

Creepy lol perhaps?

I did used to stare a LOT at a bus-driver I fancied. But I only did that to get his attention, because somebody told me that he was single. He's all mine now!

Actually, it IS an Aspie thing to stare! I stare, myself, and I am an Aspie! So please realize that an Aspie can be a starer, too. 8O

apparently staring and looking are two different things, not that I've been able to tell the difference.

i stare like crazy, and usually at a part of someone. their shoe or hand or hair or whatever catches my attention (or lots of parts of them that catch my attention). i have to really pay attention, especially waiting in lines, so that i don't stare so much it might bother someone. i can't tell if it does or not so i don't know whether it's ok. it's one of those mysterious things i can't read at all, whether or not it's ok to look at someone or how much it's ok to look.

it's just curiosity.

but i don't understand certain boundaries and cannot no matter how much i try to figure them out. looking is one of them and another is when it's ok to say something in someone's conversation that you can overhear (if they're talking so close to you it's not eavesdropping but public)

I do it because I get easily distracted by small things due to me wanting to inspect things more, I like attention to detail. I'm getting better at keeping straight eye contact but usually I open my eyes too wide as a result of trying to focus too hard :P

I do. if I am interested in what a person has to say, and it is a new idea or important information I need to pay attention to, I will bore eye-lasers through them. I will also do this if I am trying to recognise someone if they look vaguely familiar, or if there is something about them that is interesting and I want to examine it. I am, however, aware of how unsettling this can be so I try to stop myself doing it too much. If I am not interested, I generally won't look at them. However, that does not mean I am not listening just because I am not looking at them.

Sometimes I am a bit "out of it" because of the noise and distraction around me, or because I am thinking about something. My eyes fix on something interesting and don't look away from it, then I might realise that I am staring at a person and it is rude. I was very bad when I was younger, and try not to stare at people.

I stare at someone if they look aesthetically remarkable to me, but only if they don't notice.
If I have an infatuation with a famous person, it's even worse-- I will find pictures of them and gaze so much at their unending attractiveness that I would soon be able to tell apart lookalikes.

I tend to stare at people when I think deeply without noticing.

Creeps people right the heck out. :P
