Have you contacted the autism centre in your area yet if you have one nearby? They should be able to direct you to other aspies, or they may even have groups through them.
I feel sort of the same way. I do go to the self-advocacy group in my city where there are only 4-6 people who go (I am the youngest, and the one next in age to me is more than a decade older). I do not mind meeting up with auties and aspies of all ages, but it would be nice to meet a few people closer to my age (and developmental age--as I am one of the lower functioning people there, I think). I go to the biggest university this side of Montreal, yet sometimes I feel that I am the only one on the spectrum who goes there. Statistically, there should be 118 people on the spectrum there...if 1 in 110 are on the spectrum. Even if there are far less, since many on the spectrum do not pursue higher education....say just 10....that would still be enough for a group of spectrumites to meet up for support and friendship. Nevertheless, I remain alone. You know, up until I began going to the advocacy group, I have never knowingly met another person on the spectrum before. Being an autie can be lonely in more ways than one...
