Most annoying bark (Please read before commenting)

The sound of dogs barking seems to quite a common sensory issue. I find that different pitches have different effects on me.

I call dogs with high-pitched barks "weefers", dogs with meduim pitched barks "wiffers" and dogs with low pitched barks, "woofers".

Which bark of this is most annoying?

The big dark is the woofer in that video.

They're all annoying. This is why I prefer cats.

I have a dachshund and his bark can be annoying. He is a wiffer and his bark rattles the inside of my ears if he does it close by.

Dog barks are supposed to be irritating though, to alert sleeping humans of danger. If dog barks were pleasing to the ear we wouldn't feel a sense of alarm when we hear them. It is that sense of alarm that causes me discomfort.

I picked all of them. I love dogs a lot, but I find any incessant noise--which includes barking--to be annoying.

Sounds like being smacked in the face.

I suppose that, like everything else, it's relative.

If I were in the middle of breaking into someplace, I'd much rather hear a weefer than a woofer!

In general, however, I find weefers to be the most annoying, by far.

Generally I find weefers the most annoying (nice names by the way!). I work in the small animal section at an animal shelter. Next door to the rodent room is where they keep the sick/recovering dogs who've been in surgery or who are going into surgery. For the past two weeks there has been a weefer in there doing my HEAD IN!! !

I don't like the sound of the other two either, but I definitely find the high pitched barking worse than the lower pitched ones.

They are all annoying. This is why I perfer lizards.

High-pitched barks hurt my ears.

Medium-pitched barks annoy me.

Low-pitched barks make me feel agitated.

Cats never make sounds that hurt my ears, annoys me, or agitates me. Even if they purr loud or keep on miawing around your feet, it still isn't nowhere as agitating as a dog, and at least any loud noise from a cat isn't a sudden shock to my ears.

I can't stand indoor barking. It hurts my ears. But outside I am fine. Maybe because it's outside and there are no walls. The medium pitch one was annoying and the high pitch one made it feel like my ears were ringing and my head too. I don't know how to describe it.

I feel a lot better with dogs outside too. My uncle has an Alsation, and I am fine with his barking when we're outside (if he barks). But when we're indoors, enclosed in one room with the dog, and somebody knocks at the door, oh dear! I hear the knock, but he barks before I get the chance to put my fingers in my ears. (So it's obvious that dogs hear things quicker than humans do).

But with dogs with high-pitched barks (mostly those little dogs have high-pitched barks), even when I'm outside, their barks hurt my ears. Ohhh, it's actually so agony for me! The dog has got to be loads of yards away from me!

I play a game with my dog where I hide under a blanket and tell him he can't find me. He gets on the blanket and starts digging and barking and those barks do something to my ear drums. They start itching from the vibration and I worry the barking will damage my hearing.

I actually find weefers most annoying. Woofers and wiffers can be annoying if I am close to them, but if I am far away, it's not as annoying.

Has anyone noticed that weefers seem to bark more and for a long time than woofers?

Me neither. I actually like the sound of cats meowing to a point.
